Outstanding food and service. A very busy day but the staff treated everyone well. Despite the Calamari not being available the mussels and the scallops were outstanding

My husband, best friend, and I took the train to Mallaig and ended up having lunch at this wonderful restaurant! What a delightful surprise! The service was superb. We were made to feel right at home. When ordering a drink, I asked for Botanical Gin....The Bartender offered three different varieties of Botanical gin, including a 14 year old variety that had been aged in whisky barrels. Of course, we had to try this and it was a revelation! The fish was fresh and perfectly prepared. My husband had chicken schnitzel which he said was excellent. We had a wonderful meal and drink. But best of all was the great service! We could not have been more pleased.More

Absolutely fantastic! So much choice with an incredibly knowledgeable staff member. HUGE portions, the main portion of mussels came with around 60 mussels !! Really struggled to eat them all….had to have a break as I didn’t want to give in, the sauce they were...cooked in was devine. Very attentive host, and fabulous service. I would 100% recommend!More

Absolutely amazing seafood, the monkfish in particular was just sublime, the mussels were to die for and you just must try the crab pate starter. 3 visits in a 2 day stay tells the story. A Mallaig must-do.

What a treat it was to eat at the Cabin, Mallaig. The seafood is absolutely spot on and served in a beautifully understated premises by a very entertaining maitre di, who knows his stuff. Music was also very fitting. I just felt thoroughly spoilt for...choice from the menu, but finally chose the special crab soup followed by mussels. Both Devine.More

This tiny restaurant is a jewel. Just a few tables, but with a great choice of seafood on offer - all well cooked and presented. Some good wine choices too, but don’t expect anything other than a cafe environment. The front of house service is...friendly and engaging, and the food is beyond reproach. No opportunity to book - it’s first come, first served. But worth waiting for!More

Great food and service from this wee gem. Everything was super fresh and the list of daily specials were on the wall. It's a bit limited for those who don't like seafood but apart from that 10 out of 10.

Went to the establishment on a whim after missing the ferry and it completely made our night! The seafood platter was astonishing and the amazing staff making sure we did not miss out on anything topped it off with an extra plate of sprats. Everyone...was truly amazing, welcoming and the food was truly delicious. Definitely recommend if you also miss the ferry (and need a pick me up) or happen to be in Mallaig.More

A birthday treat. The seafood “plater” was amazing. The quality and quantity was outstanding, it should have been called a seafood banquet. A minor criticism would be due to the quantity it would have been better served in stages to avoid some dishes getting cold....Service was great.More
