I was gutted when they closed the Rain Bakery in Fort William, but delighted to discover the Bakehouse in Mallaig. Brilliant bakery, great cakes and bread - great for a quick breakfast - if you can brave the queue !

Wow! Everything they bake here is just amazing. It knocks socks off every other bakehouse we have been to. We queued for about 15 minutes, this little bakery is just buzzing. Lots of freshly baked goodies coming out of the ovens as we waited. We...chose a very yummy mushroom and cheese croissant and a sausage roll plus two coffees and ate at the tables outside overlooking the harbour, absolutely delicious and great tasting coffee, very well impressed, and two almond croissants to take home that were by far the best. We are going to miss this amazing bakery, totally recommend.More

What a fantastic place. My mum absolutely loved it. We've got a blueberry custard bun and a fresh and hot baguette. My mum said the bun tasted like ones from her childhood in Poland. Place have beautiful views and place to sit down and enjoy...coffee tea and some sweet treat. Definitely a place to go.More

A perfect start to the day. Sat on a warm morning outside eating a ham and cheese croissant and drinking coffee in the most idyllic setting. A quality bakery and definitely worth visiting. Bought bread to take home too. My experience was full marks but...I’ve deducted a little because of the opening times on offer. Closed on a Sunday and Monday - when Mallaig is full of visitors. And pizzas only available between 4 and 8 Friday and Saturday. I guess the owners have decided what works for them and their priority isn’t for the tourists but I wish they’d taken their days off midweek. We arrived Friday afternoon and will leave Monday so there’s only one day for breakfast which is such a shame. And nothing at all on offer on a Sunday means they miss a huge trading day but that’s their choice. It’s just a shame the building they use for pizzas can’t be used outside of the eight hours they trade because the location is just fantastic. Best bakery I’ve been in and my only gripe is that it’s not there for us when we need it!More

Didn't know pizza could taste this good, just another level, it was so good we just had to go back the next day for seconds.

‘Worth dying for’ was made for this bakery and coffee shop. My ciabatta sandwich melted in my mouth, the bread was so amazing, and the mocha coffee was wonderful too.

Nearly had fish and chips but found this place instead and so glad that we did. Best custard and raspberry donut ever and the cheese/ mushroom focaccia was delicious. Quality coffee too, couldn’t ask for more.

Hard to describe how incredible the food is here! Over a couple of days I tried the sausage roll, the almond croissant and the danish pastry. Beautiful flakey pasty, full of flavour, fresh and so so tasty! A must stop if you are in Mallaig!

Staying in an apartment on the main street in Mallaig and looking for somewhere for a light breakfast, we consulted TripAdvisor. We were not disappointed as we had the best croissants ever. The choice was immense. Suffice to say the diet starts tomorrow!

We are happy to travel by car and then ferry to visit this place. The bakery is superb - the skillset of the bakers are on display everywhere - from excellent sourdough bread to patisserie to die for. Its efficiently run - the staff are...very pleasant - there is often a queue to enter which is a good sign. I wish this business every success as to me they appear to be doing everything to perfection!More

Well forth looking up. Just a little walk out of town. Great bread, great sandwich, good coffee. Simply a shop, no seating area, but space around the shop to relax and eat. Make sure you are early, we were late for lunch and there was...little left. What was available was lovely.More

I visited this place during very busy hours. People were queuing up to try their food. I had a pepperoni pizza and a cinnamon swirl. Both are good and I felt bad for not trying their other baked goods which looked great too. Food is...5 star and location too. A must try when visiting mallaig.More

Loved stopping here for a quick bite. Lots of lovely sandwiches, sausage rolls, pastries and cakes on offer. Very limited seating just outside, but found a nearby bench beside the water next door. Went with a smoked salmon and poppyseed roll. Delicious! Great coffee too....They usually have a sit in pizza hub next door, but that was closed on day we visited.More

The Bajwhouse has delicious pastries and fresh bread. However they are on the expensive side but a nice treat. We had 3 cinnamon buns that were a bit burnt and £2.50 each
