Delicious meals that have served to introduce my young 12 and 10 year old daughters to truly skilled cooking. The meals had a multitude of subtle flavours that complemented the main element of our dishes. Well done to the chef and team, highly recommended.

Ballandean estate is a long established vineyard still owned by the Puglisi family and after my tasting I ate in the barrel room which was highly satisfactory from all points of view. It is a pleasant and well appointed vineyard restaurant with excellent service and very good food including good locally baked bread with cultured butter and an excellent and... More

The food menu is small but the food itself is quite good. The waiters have a very extended knowledge of the food they are serving I was under the impression they work at the kitchen too, Very friendly. It is very easy to combine with a wine tasting at Ballandean estate wines, and you may order your food while doing... More

Restaurant is typical of winery. Big barrels arround. Very rustic. Food exceptional. Staff were friendly and attentive. Great place to dine.

Almost plate-licking worthy Almost only because we were raised right and licking plates in restaurants just doesn't cut it. Already planning our trip back up the range to dine here again. Normally I take photos but I was enjoying it so much that there was nothing left on the plate to shoot. Wonderful wine tasting before sitting down in the... More

I loved their 9-course degustation! I've been to many fancy restaurants like Aria but I can honestly say none of them made a lasting impression on me like the Barrel Room. I can still taste the wonderful flavours and textures of each dish they served. Everything was made in-house (even butter and bread!) using fresh local produce and I could... More

Came here while on holiday with my family and was very impressed with the food here. Fresh with interesting pairing that you know are locally sourced. Definitely try this place if you're in the area.

This was such a highlight of our recent trip to Stanthorpe! The feed is well priced and probably some of the best food I have ever had. The staff were wonderful and knowledgable. This will be on my to do list every time I am in town!

We believe in keeping our food mileage low, utilising the abundant produce in the area and working with both local farmers and the seasons to showcase what the Granite Belt has to offer. We support free range and sustainable farming practices, as well as organic where possible, and have given ourselves a strict three hour radius in which to source our produce - if we cannot get something within this radius, we simply do not use it. We allowed three hours so we were able to reach Ballina for seafood, however most things are coming from much closer to home. Currently our pork, tomatoes and garlic come from within minutes of the restaurant. Because we use such local produce, for the most part we are unable to order in cuts of meat, so meat comes to us as whole beasts, if not delivered by the farmer who raised and slaughtered it, then by the butcher who did. For this reason, you will notice our mains will often feature a cut of meat as well as a braise so we can utilise and pay homage to the whole animal. Everything possible is produced in house including the bread, cultured cream and butter and we like to feature wild foraged ingredients on our menu. We welcome you warmly to The Barrelroom and hope you can appreciate the effort we put into designing a menu that is not only delicious, but mindful, clever and above all, respectful of the produce we utilise.
