Had eaten here previously in 2015 and had enjoyed our food on several occasions. Went back in 2016 and found that the food was just not as good as we had previously enjoyed. Friendly service but unfortunately food was a let down which is a pity.

Stumbled over the Phoenix in 2015 and enjoyed it ,dined there twice and my kids especially loved . Went back in 2016 and there was a very noticeable drop in quality of the food on offer .It wasn't bad ,but it wasn't great.Whereas previously the curry was served with large hunks of succulent chicken ,this time around it was tiny... My family and I have frequented the Algarve for over 20 years. I have had mixed experience with the Phoenix during that time. The food is ok, but it is by no means fresh or home cooked it is literally from the packet. This may suit some people and obviously works for the Phoenix as it has remained open for... More

Perfect position in the centre of town. Staff very friendly and helpful if you need any local info. Check out the town shops, pop in for a snack and drink, then go check out some more shops. Simples tch

Nice place for a relaxed meal. Good home cooked food, nicely presented. Prices were very reasonable.

Been here before. Very pleasant surroundings with wholesome roast lunch. The three course option included a limited range of starters but the melon was excellent. The desserts were even more limited to ice cream or melon but the ice cream was very pleasant. Service was ok but a smile would not have gone amiss.

Not our first time here, but returned to a warm welcome from staff who are so attentive. Ordered a traditional roast which was to perfection. Unfortunately we had enjoyed a very filling starter which made the task of clearing the main course plate a little difficult but we managed it. You will not be disappointed.

We went twice and enjoyed the food immensely the only downfall was the puddings.. I was let down. I think the selections are too big and was hoping they would be home cooked. However the Sunday dinner was lovely and left full to the top. The wine was a large portion ( no complaint) reading other people's reviews on how... More

We had chosen to eat at The Crows Nest as recommended on Trip Advisor but sadly it has closed down, out of business. Went to Phoenix on the rebound having seen street signboard. We wanted a Sunday Roast and got just what we wanted. Clean and smart with lovely English staff. Good food in nice surroundings. Excellent value.
