Another great bar/cafe in Mens. Nothing better than sitting outside in the sun sipping an espresso and enjoying a fresh croissant from the patisserie next door. Has an excellent lunch menu.

This is a wonderful little restaurant that we happened on while wondering around Mens on a sleepy Monday in July. They were very welcoming to the children and had some wonderful main courses: I tried the local specialities - ravioles de Royans and ravioles de champsaur (I never knew mashed potato wrapped in pastry could taste that good), while my wife had the dos de cabillaud - absolutely wonderful dish. I was left regretting not ordering the poire de boeuf, which an adjacent table had ordered - the portion was enormous, so was glad we hadn't ordered a 3-course meal. But obviously I was saving myself up for dessert - a tarte tatin d'abricots with a delicious crème anglaise. This is what France is all about - discovering a family bistro in a small rural town and sampling cuisine that blows your socks off.... Next time we'll come without the children....

Very nice bistrot with nice owner/staff. The spirit is very interesting and you may compare it to a Parisian bistrot. They serve all kinds of drinks and have cocktail of the moment. I was there just for a break that has really been appreciated. They have a nice terrasse very convenient at lunch time as the sun flows it!

Wonderful atmosphere full of interesting and delightful locals. The owner and staff are extremely friendly and genuinely fun and are very helpful when it comes to pesky things like food allergies (a rarity in France). Would warmly recommend!!

We visited this restaurant for lunch with friends who live in the area. It is deservedly popular with locals. The welcome is warm, the setting charming, and the food delicious, simple and copious. The lunch prix fixe menu is a bargain.

Disappointed 😞 Poor food and very poor service. The taste of pork with olives looks like wild boar is for me inedible, we left without the dessert of the formula because the staff do not take care of us

Reasonably priced menu, starter main course dessert coffee €18 but the dishes lack flavor. The staff is very friendly.

2 menus, meat brick and swordfish identical garnish €18 dessert, coffee included. First the negative: waiting time for the dish of the day 40 minutes. The concept of the single plate with the starter and the hot main course is not necessarily a good idea, offering swordfish in Trièves is not very "green". the swordfish is ordinary, the pasta lacks sauces. The positive: the old decor, the dish is hearty, the brick pie is generous in meat, too much for my taste, two or three sheets of brick would have given more crunch. The meat is tasty The Tatin tart is generous and good, the apple crumble a little stingy but good. The end result is very average, however it would not take much for it to become very good, in particular to serve the starter separately to keep people waiting

This restaurant is reserved for regulars, we do not recommend going there if you are passing through. The boss is correct but when she is not there her employees favor the regulars by not hesitating to make you change tables in the middle of the aperitif to give it to a gentleman who has his habits. Then the regulars who arrive well after you are served first and quickly, you have to complain in order to be served and when the meal finally arrives after an hour of waiting it is cold and the duck breast is ultra dry. Too bad for Mens tourism.

We were this day, we enjoyed the guinea fowl from Trièves and its carrots with cumin as well as the delicious salsify (I don't like that, it was very well cooked) and the ravioli gratin ❤️, the piece from the butcher a delicious entrecote and fries too (fresh fries). Very generous children's menu and the frozen nougat is a treat, you can smell it homemade in most of the dishes. Super nice waitress. We will come back

This Wednesday afternoon in November, everything was perfect! The lunch menu at €17.50 (coffee included) offered a choice; the rabbit leg and its accompaniment were elaborate, interesting in flavor, the portion sufficiently copious. The bread was also fine and delicate! Among the desserts, the chocolate pear crumble showed the same effort to move away from the basic dessert. Same satisfaction on the menu for the beef carpaccio. And this with very pleasant service. Reading, in hindsight, other dissatisfied opinions left, we may have come on a "good day", and it was undeniably excellent.

We were enchanted by this restaurant where everything is done like at home. We were very well received. There were 15 of us, but we were served quickly and with a smile. Great value for money!

I had booked two weeks in advance for 4 people in the main room with its period painted ceiling! We actually found ourselves between two rooms in a small room with a door giving access to the toilets and a second door permanently open to the very noisy diving room (we couldn't hear each other spoken) We took the suggestions of the day: tuna accompanied by gnocchi 🙁 and a little vegetables all on the same plate, really not great! Any desserts, no surprises! A very very long service! In summary: very big disappointment shared by our friends
