We were to meet friends here for dinner - but life intervened and we arrived just in time to sample what had been offered up. We were so impressed, that we came back a week later with some local friends as a treat... The food...is described as from the regions of Umbria and Lazio: meat dominates the menu - and it's well prepared. We tried 2 primi and 4 secondi between the four of us: and we couldn't even contemplate dessert. We all agreed that the papadelle alla lepre was the winning pasta; the farona (guinea fowl) is outstanding, followed by the coniglia (rabbit rolled around a spinach core). The cinghiale (wild boar) is exceptional as well. We were divided on the rolled duck - which which is seasoned with with a variety of spices. It comes up more like a rolled pate/finely ground salami - so don't expect pieces of duck). It's tasty but the other three dishes are really well made. Dinner is kind of like a production - you don't order as much as rather being 'directed' by Cristina - so you may need to stand your ground if you really want something else... Don't expect 'fancy' - the food and the place is genuine and sensibly priced.More
