We were to meet friends here for dinner - but life intervened and we arrived just in time to sample what had been offered up. We were so impressed, that we came back a week later with some local friends as a treat... The food...is described as from the regions of Umbria and Lazio: meat dominates the menu - and it's well prepared. We tried 2 primi and 4 secondi between the four of us: and we couldn't even contemplate dessert. We all agreed that the papadelle alla lepre was the winning pasta; the farona (guinea fowl) is outstanding, followed by the coniglia (rabbit rolled around a spinach core). The cinghiale (wild boar) is exceptional as well. We were divided on the rolled duck - which which is seasoned with with a variety of spices. It comes up more like a rolled pate/finely ground salami - so don't expect pieces of duck). It's tasty but the other three dishes are really well made. Dinner is kind of like a production - you don't order as much as rather being 'directed' by Cristina - so you may need to stand your ground if you really want something else... Don't expect 'fancy' - the food and the place is genuine and sensibly priced.More

Three couples had lunch, arrived an hour later than reservation, but were welcomed warmly. The proprietress served us, made perfect recommendations for wonderful pasta dishes and brought a cherry tart for dessert which was complimentary. All patrons other than us were locals. Highly recommended.

We visited the Tiberina as a big two family party so 11 of us in total and they were virtually full which was a great sign as most of the locals use the restaurant. The English speaking host was lovely and managed to move tales...around to sit us all together. The food was good and plentiful and we did the starter, pasta then meat and were absolutely stuffed. All the children ate well too and the bill was again very good for the amount of people and drinks we had. This is a proper traditional trattoria and got a thumbs up from all 11 of us, 3 children, 4 teenagers and 4 adults which is tough to please all. Many thanksMore

Got to say we use Villas every year in both northern and southern Italy and having stayed local all week we decided to go out on the Friday night 12 of us. We are a difficult at best of times and as I booked this...online I was a little shocked when we walked in and it was a Tabaco shop and store. Phew all was well when the lady owner i assume escorted us into the nice restuarant at the back with our table already set. The guys all nearly did the 3 courses and the girls stuck with two. Everything they brought us was home cooked and traditional. The service was exceptional again typical traditional Italian. It was worth noting English as a language wasnt the best but we had a good time practising our Italian. The bill at the end for 12 of us including a vast amount of wine and beer was 300 Euro what a result. Every one us said it was better than the previous night when we hired a chef in the Villa and paid 500 Euros. Grazie mille Famiglia PistoniMore

Good basic fare at a modest price. One aspect which could be very attractive in these summer months - the thick walls keep the place nice and cool. A relaxed family rustic atmosphere great pasta with lepre (wild rabbit/hare); fantastic wild boar rich, decent wine...and desert. ate well for €60 for 4 persons.....More

Nice, rustic atmosphere, good food but nothing exceptional. For a trattoria I feel the size of the portions are a bit modest.

Really great pasta with lepre (wild rabbit/hare); fantastic wild boar (but supper rich), decent wine and desert. I ate well for €23.

Outside of Narni we found a little unassuming restaurant that was full of tasty italian dishes. The serving staff was so pleasant and we had a number of little extras thrown in. It was not as if we needed it as the plates were very...generous. They were however certainly appreciated. We lingered over lunch and enjoyed watching the staff tuck into their lunches after providing us with an excellent meal and service.More

Let's start with the positive- the waitress was extremely friendly and offered to split two orders of meat (pheasant and duck) so I could try both. Additionally, the price was right- my partner and I paid only 28euro for an appetizer, two entrees, a side-dish...of fried potatoes, a half liter of Coca-cola and a half liter of wine. Unfortunately, the positive aspects end there. Sure, there is some charm in the "trip to grandma's house" dining experience, where you can watch t.v. and eat homey food. But I never paid to eat at granny's house, and she was much more attentive than the hosts at Trattoria Tiberina. The food was OK. The appetizer of mixed bruschette and cured meat weren't anything special, and the fried potatoes weren't anything I couldn't have made at home. The lamb was rather delicious, on the other hand, as was the half-order of the duck. I wish I would have ordered the full order of duck because the pheasant was dry and it was difficult to find the meat on the plate. I must admit that the hostess was extremely kind when I complained about this and she brought another plate (gratis) of pheasant for me to pick at with my knife and fork. If it's worth mentioning, the bathrooms were decent for Italian standards (there wasn't any toilet paper and they were out of paper towels to dry my hands, which strangely is common even in the nicest of places I've visited here), and the house wine was decent. The location of the restaurant is a bit out of Narni, so I wouldn't recommend trying to come here if you don't have a car. Otherwise, probably it is on par with other places in the area!More
