We visited this cafe after cycling from Bitton along Bristol to Bath cycle path. The bacon and egg baguettes were perfect along with a coffee and reasonably priced. Staff very pleasant. Will definitely go back on our next venture past the cafe.

My wife and I sat at an outside table by the canal to enjoy a couple of ciabattas - one with chicken and bacon, and one with steak and caramelised onion - both came with a side portion of chips, and were quite filling. The chicken and bacon one was a tiny bit dry, but the steak and onion one... More

Walking the K and A canal. The Angelfish and nearby Dundas aqueduct are a useful 3.5 mile stroll from Bathampton. The cafe is down a short length of the now nearly defunct Somerset Coal Canal and not easy to find but worth the extra few hundred yards. There is handy car parking (free til the end of March but charge... More

.I don't know whether the boss is arrogant or simply unaware of the service that is not being provided or perhaps a combination of the two. In a way, he has a captive market as there is no one else to go for food and drink. I entered and commented that the cakes' prices were not advertised. They are in... More

impressed by the vast appetising menu at this canal-side/ cyclists cafe only to be extremely disappointed by the food when it arrived. My husband ate most of his steak sandwich but was unimpressed, I left all of my chicken and bacon sandwich, put off by the anemic slab of chicken inside. If you like plenty of bland food you're in... I arrived at the cafe during a walk on 1st October mid-afternoon. I stood at the counter for 5 minutes while a waitress walked upstairs collecting plates and cups and delivering them to the kitchen downstairs, passing me several times. There was much hilarity in the kitchen but no service. I sat down for 5 minutes and tried again. Still... More

As a regular visitor to the Angelfish as part of a canal side walk, we often stop for lunch at the café. Today the food was unusually poor and when we asked, it turns out that they have a new chef. Now I'm no cook which is why it's such a treat to eat out, but honestly even I can... More

Really enjoyed our visit to Angelfish - a welcome place to go after a lovely walk along the canal to Dundas Aqueduct - excellent coffee and lovely caramel shortcake - excellent range of meals offered.

I visited this lovely café today, and was served promptly and efficiently, though must admit there was no one else in the queue - I was doing the walk for the Julian House Trust for Homeless people in the Bath Area, and the cake and tea just hit the right spot at the right time, and is an ideal setting... his cafe has a lovely location on the old Somerset Coal Canal near its junction with the Kennett and Avon Canal at Dundas Viaduct. We looked in for an afternoon snack and the service was very slow (there only seemed to be two young lads working), not helped by a system that seems to allow people to be served ahead... More
