This is one the few traditional restaurants for Tortas in Toluca, I recommend the gourment section, but the traditional chorizo Torta will provide you a real flavor of the place and the city.

The specialty of Toluca is a sausage called Chorizo. Here you can find the best Sausage tortas in the region. it is a simple place with a lot of flavour in it's food. If you want some local taste in a very simply decorated place at e very low cost and LOTS of flavor, this is an obligated visit, specially... More

This is the place with best tortas in Toluca, you really have to have lunch here. One of the best known places for easy food in town. Mi favorites are the Catalanas but they have plenty of options to choose from.

Very good "tortas" specially "la cubana" and "de pierna" the size is small compared with others. Here you can buy "chorizo verde" or "chorizo rojo" it is a must in "los portales de Toluca"

Of notoriety and renown around Toluca and Mexico City, La Vaquita maintains the style that made it famous more than 30 years ago, even in spite of itself. It's hard to speak of a more famously acclaimed place for tortas in Toluca. La Vaquita has expanded to include a take-out deli shop, with lots of cheese and lunch meat varieties.... More

Although the Earl of Sandwich could hardly have predicted it, La Vaquita makes a sandwich ("torta") that people line up to eat at all hours, forcing one to be patient and stand behind one of the stools that occupy the premises of the big commercial plaza near the Plaza of the Martyrs. I think it is the northeast corner. You... More

This place was one of the most famous for "tortas" but the quality and size of the portions have decreased over the last years. Place usually crowded on sundays. Tortas are still good but there are plenty of places equal or better which are know only to locals mostly such as La Española (very gourmet), La Hortaliza or La Selva.... More

Tortas! A 'torta', in Mexico is a sandwhich; not to be confused with the term 'torta' which in Spain and in South America refers to a cake. These 'tortas' are great! The value for your money couldn't be better. It's not a place to hang since its small and crowded, however the size of the sandwiches allows you to eat... More

Excellent food in a simple setting. The staff was small when we visited with some waiting time as a result. Anyway the food is worth the wait.
