Short walk from the ocean front and beach. Serving a great breakfast of omelettes, steak and eggs delicate shrimp dishes, and a very popular Club sandwich! Service was friendly and very communicative. Very relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. We found this location while being temporarily lost! Our treat---and a repeat!

As we wandered around La Penita we discovered this pretty little restaurant tucked away. It's clean, staff is wonderful and the musicians that showed up to entertain were excellent. I was craving eggs benny and their rendition was perfect for my palate

We were a party of 5. 3 decided to have the special which was an Arrechera kabob. Two were quite good but one was a little overdone. My wife and I were lucky enough to get the last two Dorado. As we are not huge Mango fans they offered to replace the Mango and walnut topping with a garlic spiced... More

If you are at market in La Penita de Jaltemba, Thursdays, this excellent restaurant has special hours until 2pm for hungry shoppers. We stopped in to try yet another restaurant's servings and service. We were seated on the patio, which was nicely protected by a cloth canopy for sun control. Since breakfast was still an option, we took advantage. Eggs... More

This was a wonderful place to spend a relaxing evening. The food was very good, live music and the wait staff that present but not overbearing. Never felt rushed!

This was one of our favourite restaurants in the past few years, but it has lost some of its appeal due to a smaller menu, fewer choices and not so great food. The staff are wonderful and the kitchen copes pretty well, the ambiance is the best thing about the place with a lovely setting in an old Mexican home....... More

This place is a gem! Amazing food, great service, and a fun atmosphere. When we were there, they were playing an old movie (picture only) on the wall.

A story: During a visit in January, 2016, the final celebratory site was reserved for Xaltemba – a very cozy, open air restaurant, with delightful live music, excellent menu selection, attentive waiters and a great selection of wine. Upon arriving to the States, I realized my camera was missing. A quick communication with the manager reassured me they had it.... More
