Truly a diamond in the rough......... If you are driving through the Bruce Peninsula either way DO NOT PASS THIS BY!!! This great spot opens early (6:30 a.m.) to serve their community by offering friendly conversation, a variety of baked treats and a TASTY breakfast...sandwich. Welcoming and helpful staff and a comfortable dining area that looks like someone's home and MUST be a terrific gathering spot for locals .More
There are very few cafes on the northern Bruce peninsula before Tobermory but Trufood Cafe is that rare bird! Inside an unassuming little house, set by itself surrounded by farmland, one will find one’s expresso coffee fix which can be accompanied by a delicious gourmet...panini and/or tasty homemade bakery. Yes, they had vegan selections when we were there for those who may wonder. We noticed there was always someone coming in or going as we ate in the homey sitting area with works by local painters on the wall. (Try finding the three wolves!) There is a bookcase and toys and a blackboard for the kids. A very nice place to take an afternoon break!More
This place is very bright and clean. We ordered tuna paninis, coffees and a cranberry square. Everything was very delicious.
Thank you ladies, I came across this little place on my way to Cape Chin, quiet, quaint little spot on the corner of Highway 6 and Lindsay Road 5, I am typically not a sweet fan, but the pineapple pecan cookies are truly amazing..so good...I went back for more later in the day. A MUST visit for all, organic coffee, homemade gluten free granola, local products and home baked goods.. again thank youMore
TruFood offers grab and go or sit-in. Excellent coffees. Healthy light meals including good soups and desserts. Vegan, paleo, keto options are always available. This popular spot is a refreshing pause.
Excellent! Health food for breakfast and lunch. All made fresh. Good coffee too. Great location for you to stop on your way to hiking or kayaking on the Bruce.
Suoer ncie café, open early, supee nice lady inside, and tasty sweets of course. Perfect spot for breakfast.
Great place to stop on highway 6 just about 1/2 hour from the Grotto. We were impressed with the range of options available - breakfast sandwiches, sandwiches, salads, many GF and vegan options, baked goods (with nut free options). And excellent value for the money!
We stopped here on our way to Tobermory. A little gem. My husband and I each had an organic coffee to go (he had the dark roast and I had the regular). Very tasty, hot and fresh. We also each had a cookie(our son too)....They were very fresh and delicious. The store also sells fresh sandwiches etc and has a freezer of homemade frozen entrees.More
Trufoods was a great find. We downed delicious breakfast bagels, cookies and coffee. Had to resist buying one of everything.
From the outside this is just a wooden building with an unpaved parking lot at the crossing of two county road in the middle of rural Canada with a warning on the mosquito net door that the restroom is only for customers. From the inside...it is a clean, friendly, modern and cosy cafe with a nice view, with nice amenities including books and toy station for patrons of any age. Service is fast and friendly and the food is healthy and tasty. Soup was fantastic, paninis good (especially the goat cheese). Good vegetarian options. Even the cookies taste healthy: filling and satisfying but not heavy or too sweet. Coffee is also very good. Overall a great experience on any scale, though the pleasant surprise based on the location made it even more memorable.More
Perfect place to grab a coffee and a homemade baked good. To go or sit in. Very cute and friendly owners.
You will not be disappointed. Fresh baked goods, paninis, bagels etc. Very clean and nicely set up. It is larger inside than it looks. There is a place for children to play and ready books. We had paninis, very tasty.
The place is quite new, nicely furnished, clean, has a children's play corner and most importantly: the food is delicious, resourceful and diverse. The owners have an organic farm 3 minutes from the cafe.
