Management was extremely disrespectful, overpriced for what you get, food was so/so Please save yourself the time and money and don’t go!

We came there a party of four, close to the end of the seating We had full rack ribs, hamburger, the beef dip, and the Perch Po Boy (upgraded fries to the daiky soup (carrot based). The service was great, and the dishes were quite...tasty, though a bit pricy.More
The food was very good and the waitress who served us was fantastic. Unfortunately the owner is rather crusty and that was our first impression of the restaurant along with the over zealous Covid restrictions. Otherwise I would have ranked it higher.
Much as we appreciated the COVID policies, we felt like lepers! No other restaurant on the Peninsula still has a 2-foot drop zone. We understand it was probably needed for the first and/or second lockdown but this is ridiculous! The Shepherd's pie was very salty...and the perch dinner was so over-fried, my husband felt there was no fish left in the batter to taste. Even worse, the red wine by the glass was a huge rip-off. We each had 2 glasses of what looked like a 3-ounce pour at best and ended up paying $40 for 4 glasses of wine. For that price, we probably could have had a bottle of wine that was substantially better than Pelee Island Cabernet Sauvignon but the server was not the least bit enlightening when we asked about wines by the glass. My fault, I did not ask the price per glass as I expected it would be about the same as at other Peninsula restaurants we frequented this past weekend, ie $7.50 for a 6-oz glass (note: of the same wine elsewhere!) We had always heard that the Inn was pricey so avoided it for the past 35 years. Went there because of the limited restaurant choice with COVID. Would have rather bought dinners at Foodland and reheated them in the microwave at our B&B, given the mediocre quality of food and service we received!More
Very strict Covid policies which is good. We arrived and there was a power cut. We were told we could buy drinks only and CASH only. BUT NO FOOD, until power was restored. He said it would not be long as they were on the...same grid as the hospital?? Thank God we had cash. It was a long wait outside which was strange as there were no customers on the grass patio. We each bought a drink, noticed the lights came on at a building next door. Asked if we could get food and he said he sent all his staff home?? It was so windy outside, we had to hold our drinks with both hands. We left hungry and very disappointed and went back to our campsite. That summed up our visit to Lions Head :(More
Went with family for nice dinner but after 3 rude comments felt like we had to leave. Have been there numerous times in last 5 yrs we have lived in area but will never go there again. Felt like they did not want or deserve...our business.More
My family and I recently had lunch here, on the outside patio. We eat here every time we visit Lion’s Head. I wanted to note how much we appreciated that the staff were strict and ever consistently vigilant about their COVID rules, while being welcoming...and humorous about it all. Our server was quick and the food was good.More
Enjoyed our dinner sitting out on the patio while COVID restrictions were still in place. Great atmosphere, really like a village pub/inn. Good food and good service.
My wife and I had a dinner at the Lions Head Inn in early August. The restaurant had some guidelines ( as all restaurants in the province at the time) about mask wearing when in the restaurant. However, it was our opinion that the delivery...of the mask guidelines could definitely use some work. While the food was good, we kind of felt like schoolkids who were being given an opportunity to eat out, but if we acted up we'd be sent to our beds without dinner......More
My husband and I had lunch here today. It is clearly a popular spot. The patio is lovely and the staff friendly. They were observing Covid protocols very strictly. We were eager to have fish. I should have ordered the pan seared fresh lake trout....But I didn’t. Because I love the perch in Port Dover, I was delighted to see a perch platter on the menu. What a disappointment it was. There was some fish discernible inside the flat heavily breaded fingers. I have had much better with a frozen fish product. I regret not sending it back to the kitchen. My husband ordered fish and chips. The fries were good, the fish too heavily battered. He, too, regretted his choice. We each had a bowl of the soup of the day, which was very good. Surrounding tables had nice looking Caesar salads and roast beef sandwiches. We clearly chose the wrong things from the menu. I highly recommend that you not order anything breaded or battered. A friend recently had dinner here and loved her fresh whitefish dinner. So, choose wisely.More
We stopped in to this cute pub on our way back from Tobermory and it was amazing. I have a food allergy that can make things difficult but the staff and owner were amazing at accommodating me and the food was delicious! Everyone was super...friendly. Highly recommend.More
One of the best spots I've seen in a lot of years, traveling. Friendly staff and beautiful location. The food is always great and very filling. I was very impressed with how they had handled the new safety protocols put in place because of the...pandemic. Looking forward to coming back.More
My wife and I waited in the front entrance for over 5 minutes today(not long I know)and it didn't seem like anyone was around until I heard "yes sir sit wherever you like". We then realized mabey they weren't using that entrance so we went...around the other side of building and walked in. I walked in and noticed a gentleman sitting at a table and then the girl in the back telling someone in the back that we had just come in through the wrong door and we should have used the right entrance. So here am I slightly bewildered that she had just seated that gentleman no problem but we were a problem. She then sat us near where we had first walked in and said this is the front entrance in a snarky voice. It usually takes alot for me to just up and leave a restaurant but you did it girl. You were easily one of the worst waitresses I had to deal with and I only felt with you for 10 seconds of my life. Thanks for giving me bad vibes on your pub I won't recommend it to anyone. Go to Rachel's restaurant down the street I swear you will not be disaappinted. That's all . CheersMore
We have eaten here countless times, never disappoints. The staff are excellent as is the food. Some favorites include the fish & chips, roast beef and yorkshire pudding dinner, and I love the mini yorkies. Always busy but worth the wait. Check for hours of...operation to be sure. They also do great take out!More
We were nervous to be out and about. We had my elderly mom with us and so we were trying to be extremely cautious. The staff were absolutely professional and informed. They explained the distancing process in advance of us heading to the patio. We...were 3 generations and just wanting a little break. Great late lunch taking in the views. Good selection of beverage and we felt so relaxed knowing that the staff understood the COVID restrictions and could help us enjoy a family outing in a safe manner. I can't say enough about what a good experience this was.More
