This restaurant offers itself at their website as the place for A drink, A view and A bite. But this is not true. Not at all. It was lunchtime, enough free chairs at the terrace. We just want to enjoy a drink in the free relaxing chairs. After sitting there for a while and totally being ignored by the staff... More

This is a nice drinks stop with friendly owners. We had beers and ice creams on deck chairs with a hay bale as a table and the troglodyte artists cave as a backdrop. The walk up the quirky staircase affords fantastic views of The Loire.

I wrote a long review about this lovely restaurant in two langauges to make it easier for readers, but trip advisor doesn't allow bilingual reports. I think that's a shame, but rules are rules, so this is the short version: Lovely restaurant.

A last restaurant at the end of two weeks in France - I was very ready for the amazing vegetarian entree after many rich (also delicious) meals elsewhere. My husband, however, wanted yet more duck and he enjoyed Le Bistoglo's rendition thoroughly. The cavern-like interior is interesting and cozy. This was the only troglodyte restaurant (of many) that we tried... More

Turquant is largely built into the edge of the scarp which overlooks the Loire near its confluence with the Vienne. The soft limestone here is fairly easily mined and there are a variety of 'trogolodyte' villages in the area which, nowadays, are popular tourist attractions. Turquant is a little different - the trogolodyte dwellings are mostly occupied by artists who... More

Turquant is a such a lovely village to visit. Strong community of craftsmen and women amongst with is Le Bistroglo. Freshly prepared food, which makes good use of seasonal availability. It's all quite delicious and there's something for pretty much every palate. About four or five choices for each course. Good wine list. A troglodyte venue, open early March to... More

What a find! Recommended by our hotel.... This a very small bistro, with a blackboard menu that seems to change gradually.... Housed partly in a cave, with a great outdoor seating area, this was a breath of fresh air (both literally and gastronomically). There is a limited menu, however all the options are very tasty and hearty. Good vegetarian options... More

This interesting bistro restaurant is built into a troglodyte cave along a stretch of cliffside which also features artist studios and other interesting shops. The menu isn't expansive but the quality is outstanding and delicious. Absolutely recommended. The interior was probably redone recently as it looked new.
