Recently returned to Madhatters after a few months. Wasn't 100% sure I liked the ambience compared to its previous site following my last visit March 2015. However ... the downstairs now has comfy sofas and decor which really brings the whole place alive. Lovely friendly customer service from Nygel and his staff. Piping hot cappucinos and delicious cherry scones. Brilliant... More

Been meaning to visit this tea room for sometime now and today I thought I'd visit with my daughter. First impressions were that it's a quirky place with quaint little nooks and crannies displaying all sorts of bits and bobs - a cross between a antique shop and a vintage tea room. The menu is limited and confusing -sandwiches and... More

I am glad that you visited and thought that we were quirky, thats exactly what we set out to be. I am sorry that you did not enjoy your visit. The table menu lists what you can have for lunch, sandwiches, baguettes, jacket potatoes or wraps, it also states that the choices for fillings are written on the blackboard at... More

What a lovely little place. Decided to visit randomly with my young twins and am VERY happy we did. Nothing was too much hassle for the staff, even finding Gluten Free food for us. Definitely going to visit again and hopefully see Alice

I took my mum to the Madhatters Tearoom for a birthday afternoon tea after seeing friends give it such great reviews! Mum is a lover of Alice in Wonderland and wasn't disappointed! It's such a fab place.....fun and whimsical, with delightful staff! The manager was very accommodating of our party, and a delight towards my teething daughter!! Not everywhere makes... More

Booked as an Unbirthday surprise, the tea shop is a small room at the bag of an antiques shop. The staff, as you would imagine, are very friendly and immediately pointed out that there are a plethora of hats to be worn, or not, depending how silly and fun-loving you are. We were silly and tried on several hats throughout... More

Don't miss out on the vegan breakfast at the mad hatters cafe in Chester. The hash browns were perfection and the sausage were tasty! Yummy. I'm not going to say much about the decor, but if cute is your thing you'll be right at home.

The cafe is a shop at the front and cafe at the back. May items, many hats, are based on the Alice in Wonderkand cgaracter, the Mad Hatter. The downside; we placed the order at the till, the food took an age to be served, we had to pay cash as they didn't have the facility for us to pay... More
