Nice place with a outdoor area in the sun out of the wind. Great place for kids. They loved the playground!

We asked the waiter for a recommendation to which he said we should definitely order the lamb as it is "a Texel special that cannot be ordered elsewhere"... The lamb tasted as if it had been frozen and reheated. The French onion soup was definitely out of a package. The fried Camembert was definitely also from a frozen pack at... More

Great atmosphere. Good food. Both in quality and choice. This is a place you need to go if you are looking for an informal but still romantic friendly dinner. And even though you would expect high prices because of the look and feel the prices are actually very okay.

Waliking through the duinen, time for a break. De Koog in sight. Walked along to the end of Dorpstraat and you get to the Vogelhuis Oranjerie. When it's not so nice outside, go inside. If the weather is good, sit out and enjoy the fresh air. Dog friendly and good food. Efficient and friendly service. Just what you want👍😊

Food is very good. Try the kaballiau fried on local texel beer and you won't regret. Friendly staff.

It has a small play area and bouncy castle I the garden area which was great for kids. The coffee was also good but the food was mediocre. The staff were not the most welcoming towards anyone who wasn't German or Dutch. IMHO.

De Koog was pretty busy and there were plenty of cafes and restaurants to choose from, but for authentic food in a civilised atmosphere there could be only one choice.Prices were sensible and there was plenty of choice. We chose pancakes and were not disappointed with our cheese and ham pancake with Texel beer.

Great food. Ordered eggs with ham and cheese, a simple dish and you can see they use good quality ham, cheese and eggs. Makes all the difference. Terrace is covered so you can pretty much always sit outside in season. Service is quick and correct.

My wife and I visited this restaurant and were extremely impressed with the food I had cod and potatoes along with veg and salad and she had chicken on a skewer with a spicy sauce with veg. The only mistake we did was having soup to start with, not that it wasn't enjoyable, but 2 courses was just to much... More
