I stopped at this restaurant during a private tour of El Salvador's Mayan ruins (which I'd booked with EC Tours). I was worried I wouldn't find much to eat on their menu, since I'm a vegetarian, but thankfully they did have one vegetarian plate (as...well as some à la carte options). My tour guide and our driver had the fish and chicken plates. It was nice to get a taste of some authentic Salvadoran food. Many of the restaurants I'd been to in San Salvador served American, Italian, or other cuisines. The view of Lago Coatepeque was perfect from our table (though travelers with allergies or other respiratory problems should be warned that during the dry season, sugarcane farmers in the area burn off their fields, creating enough smoke to make the view of the lake a bit hazy and the air a bit harsh). Roadside parking is available, but I imagine it could fill up fast when a lot of tourists are visiting. I don't think this restaurant had WiFi.More

Coatepeque lake was one of my favorite sites in El Salvador. Very beautiful and relaxing. The restaurant has a large deck, so it is possible to enjoy the view and the sun, together with a cold drink and good seafood. The restaurant is very popular...on weekends, so it is better to book in advance.More
