Food was great. I had tuna salad, my wife had bisteka, which was so amazing that she asked for the recipe, and the chef was so nice and told her how to make it. Food all very fresh and healthy. Very nice staff, so friendly. Right at Matala beach, nice view, perfect pre or post beach, or as a mid-beach day break.

My husband and I were visiting Matala and decided to try Bistronomy . It is close to the beach and provided for a beautiful sunset. We ordered the Cretan Carbonara and the pasta with wild mushrooms and chicken.. The carbonara was flavoured perfectly with freshly crushed rosemary. The waiter recommended a dry organic wine that was the perfect accompaniment. We both agree it was our favourite dining experience in Greece and we have been here nearly a month. Everyone was extremely friendly and very attentive. Thank you for a wonderful evening!

We visited Bistronomy a few times this september. The food was great, both meat and seafood. The portions are decent for a good money: you get a shrimps spaghetti for like 13 euro (i honestly don't remember exact price), and get a plate full of shrimps (8-9 big ones). Tempura Surf and Turf was awesome too - it goes as a snack, but actually makes a full meal. Burgers are delicious. Staff is prompt, polite and welcoming - it's a fusion cousine place, but you can still feel all the cretan hospitality. Overall, we'll definitely visit the place a few more times on our next trip to Matala :)

Best restaurant in town .
My friend and I went for dinner in Bistronomy restaurant and really enjoyed the atmosphere. The food was fresh and delicious and the best part was that the chef sent us a dessert they created that day. We were delighted.
We will definitely come back.

I ate twice at Bistronomy during my week in Matala, and both times I was blown away by the quality of the food. My first meal was the chicken burger. The chicken was cooked in a crunchy coating, and served with salad in a brioche bun. The whole thing was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The side of fries was the perfect amount. My second meal was the Cretan whitefish with vegetables, a special offering. The fish was exquisite! The meat was juicy and fell off the bones. The vegetables were lovely, and the whole thing was served with a lemon and olive oil dressing.
Everything was reasonably priced, the staff were very friendly and the view of the cliffs and sea were a lovely setting for dinner.
I would recommend everyone eat at Bitsonomy when in Matala!

We spent two weeks in Matala, every other day we ended up at Bistronomy and after comparing it to almost every other restaurant there I can surely say their food is the best!
The quality is great, the service very nice and it's not too crowded. They have a variety of meals and the cook really knows what he's doing. Especially the ceviche and the risotto tagliatta had my heart (both so good it made me cry). The spare ribs were just perfect and even the lemonade was bursting of flavors!
We always felt welcome, the servers are really nice and you also have a nice view over the Matala Bay. I will really miss the food :(

Late October is quiet and we were the only customers for lunch. The food was delicious and our waiter, who was probably the owner, was genuinely friendly.
Almost all restaurants in Crete are high quality and you certainly can’t go wrong at this place.

Good food with good prices. Hosts are really friendly and fast to serve. Food is fresh and they have open kitchen so you can see when they prepare your meals. Stunning view to the matala beach and the sea.

I live in Crete, so I get to eat Greek/Cretan food all year. I love Bistronomy, because it gives me a chance to eat really good food, that's not necessarily Greek. For me it's a refreshing change! Carpaccio to die for, followed by shrimp tacos, woth chilled white wine, as the sun is going down

Such a great restaurant with outstanding service. I came back multiple days in a row just so i could try out their dishes, they were all fantastic and very well priced. super happy with the staff and will recommend to everyone to come here!

We were really happy to find them open at the start of November when so many places close for the season.
The food was excellent and a very welcome change from taverna foods with fresh pasta, fillet steak and brilliant burgers.
Really will make this restaurant an addition to our regular visits in the area

I went this week with one of my friends and we were really satisfied with the food which was served . The cooking of it was exceptional and really professional . Also, the service was very friendly and willing to help and suggest any preference we had regards with the choice of the food . Last but not least , the prices were very friendly and reasonable for the tourists and the locals. The manager of the restaurant , Mr Michalis , was very friendly and willing to help us too. The location of the shop is absolutely ideal for those who love the seaview and the friends of the local caves of Matala . The shop is located very close , 5 mins walk, from the beach and the caves . Finally , all the essential measures of the COVID-19 were fully functional as well as the staff, who was working according the regulations . I fully recommend it for those who love the Cretan and Greek cuisine. An amazing experience of food and warmness.

I have been to Bistronomy on 3 occasions and had a different meal every time.
The food is cooked to perfection and extremely tasteful.
Steak is amazing and cooked, with perfection, to you own personal taste.
The home made pasta dishes are wonderful.
Mixhalis and his staff are very attentive and make you feel very comfortable.
The kitchen is open plan and you can see the chefs working very hard and producing wonderful meals.
A change from traditional Greek food which you can get everywhere but you can’t get the flavours of Bistronomy anywhere else.
So if you want a change from souvlaki, kotopoulo and fried potatoes then Bistronomy is the place to go.
Try it, you will go back again and again!

As you go down the main street into Matala, don’t pass by this amazing and friendly place! We had a mix of specials on a Sunday evening - veggie sushi, salmon salad, tempura shrimps and arancini rice balls. All delicious and a great change from the usual Greek fare. Kostas made us very welcome.

What a fantastic new and welcome restaurant in Matala.
A totally new menu and great quality.
There is something for everyone and at a good price. The owner/chef can't do enough for you and the waitress Ely only wants you to be comfortable.
