One of my most favorite cafes. I absolutely love the salads served with every meal ordered plus the most decadent iced chocolate or coffee and a huge assortment of wonderful biscuits, cakes, muffin etc...Yum! :)

Excellent coffee & amazing breakfast :) Can recommend the French Toast with Bacon & Banana....it came with a half a fried banana (different but nice), tasty bacon & lots of lovely fresh fruit - of all kind!! My Dad had the Daddy Breakfast...the poached eggs looked yum! It also came with a fried banana which surprised my Dad a bit!... More

I've been here before and wrote about it. It's still good but I've wanted to revisit a few times but they were frequently closed. Went there today and ordered a chicken coleslaw pest wrap. Very nice. My husband had the cottage pie. Very tasty but very small. His long black was tiny. I asked for milk for my tea and... More

The best part of this cafe is the staff.Very friendly. A pity the service was on the slow side. The food, when it arrived, was good and the coffee excellent. I'm not sure about the decor. It was certainly unique so, in a way, charming.

The iced chocolate is a meal in itself and the chicken, bacon & thyme pie is out of this world. You must try it with salad - its the most innovative salad Ive seen and very yummy!

I bought a couple of take away coffees. The young woman who made them was very friendly and made good coffee. Coffees are cheaper here than most places in the whole country.

This cafe is famous for many things, decor, friendly service, delicious food, and the best iced chocolates in the North Island. There is something for all tastes at this cafe.

the first thing that struck was the decor - well, it isn't. Odd pictures/mirrors, drawings scattered around the walls. Very strange and did not add one iota to what could be an interesting cafe/restaurant. Need to strip off all existing garbage and add some interesting decorative material (paint, wallpaper, even prints of the real Trocadero). Food: very average and did... More
