Went to Farriers Sunday lunchtime - ordered "Roast of the Day" A beautifully served sliced roast beef, 7 vegetables, gravy and a volavont - a totally excellent meal prepared by a good chef and delivered by a very friendly and helpful waitress. There is inside/outside seating and the atmosphere is relaxing. - children included, and priced right. Highly recommend this... More

An excellent meal had Scallops as an entre the vinegar on the salad was to die for. Fillet steak for a main. Ordered it medium and it was cooked to perfection a rarity in my experience

Business dinners are always so wonderful and homely there at the HOrseshoe Tav. We enjoy it there every year and have been doing so since I can remember! I think the first time we went there to eat was in 1995!

But I am a new person of our organisation so I will give my views on the bar which is one where we frequent there quite often. Actually almost yearly since I can remember!

The establishment is called The Farrier, at the back of the Horseshoe. Lunchtime pizzas come in several flavours, all hand-made on site, and very good quality. We have used this restaurant several times, with friends and family. Our last two visits were Sunday evening and Waitangi Monday. For our evening meal, three of us had lamb served - imaginatively - with... More

This place was awesome and we had booked it out till late at night there for a good due. We will enjoy visiting there even more in future. But of all the cafe bars and restaurants I have frequented over the years this one is the one I have been the most. And each time it was awesome!

we tried the Horseshoe after its recent refurbishment ad were pleasantly surprised. good service and good 'pub grub'. we both ordered pies - a lamb and kumara and a duck and pork. both came with chips and salad and were substantial meals! Pastry was great - the kind that my grandma used to make - and pie fillings were tasty.... More

Been here before the renovations and had great steak meals. So was disappointed to find that steak was not on the new menu. We had starters and mains and both of us wished that we had chosen the pub grub. It looked so much better. The poussin chicken was smoked and was so full of bones it wasn't very pleasant.... More

The service is great, the food is delicious, and very generous portions. Nice atmosphere, no problem getting a table without a booking.

The staff do their best but the food on each occasion has been less than average, ranging from over salted, drowning in gravy and lack of presentation.

As from October 2013 we have a new chef and menu which we are very proud of. We are serving fresh, honest food with Pacific influences and we pride ourselves on our NZ lamb dish and our fresh local fish.We have sharing plates and a kids menu so our range of meals and prices suit everyone. Our restaurant is housed in an iconic Masterton building which has a horseshoe-shaped bar. We are open for brunch, lunch and dinner,7 days a week.We would love to see you.
