This was by far, the best I've had in a long time, right there with the best of them. I had the Venison steak and it was full of flavor and really a mouthful of taste. It was magnificent. I like my steaks grilled usually, but I wanted to try something different. The sauce and plate additional where superb. The... More

We had dinner on a Tuesday evening. This is a quiet time in most restaurants in the area but in this case there was many other customers and a nice atmosphere. I had oven baked hallibut as main course and that was really excellent.

This is obviously the trendy place to eat in Fredrikstad. Nice trendy modern interior in building sitting next to the quayside. Good lively atmosphere. The problem is this is where Brunnhildar and her Valkyries work. Like Siegfried, I did not stand a chance. There was the magnificent way she dismissed any request for help made of her in choosing from... More

I have been there two times for their "Lutefisk" before Christmas. And I left there full and happy both times.

When visiting Fredrikstad for the weekend, we decided to try this recommended restaurant. The view is great, the interior a bit too minimalistic, but when the restaurant was full, it really didn't matter. The food was extremely delicious and the service was utterly professional. Compared to other good restaurants in Norway, the price was very reasonable.

Worth every penny! This was the most expensive place we ate during our entire European trip, and likely the best! My husband and I each got fish, both of our meals were exceptional. You could easily spend $300 If you get drinks and an appetizer.

Slippen is a steady, very good restaurant in Fredrikstad. Always good food, a small but good selection of wine, and a good location. He fish we ate last night was maybe my best main course there ever.

After two visits to Slippen, one in the early spring and one in the summer, I am officially impressed. Creative and delicious food in a wonderful setting, be that inside or during the summer outside makes for a great meal. Add the personal and professional service, and this restaurant would do well anywhere in the world!
