Wow what a delight to stop off here. On a beautiful sunny day the views from the cafe were fantastic. Great selection of food, good coffee and friendly service. Cafe impeccably clean. Wonderful browsing in shop where fair prices are charged. We made two clothing purchases and very happy with what we bought and price paid. This cafe at least... More

We've driven past this place a lot on our way Chch - south. We stopped with visiting family in February and I've been back twice more since. Once you realise how great this place is, it's worth factoring into your journey plans. Friendly staff, great coffee (my father-in-law declared his hot chocolate the best he'd ever tasted). Nice variety of... More

Stopped here on our drive from Christchurch to Queenstown. We just happened upon it and are so glad we did. Such a cosy welcoming place, warm fire lighting, comfortable couches and a beautiful view. The selection of cakes was impressive, all baked in house. We had a variety, lemon cake, walnut coffee slice, oat slice and a clean cocoa and... More

This cafe is a cozy little hidden gem in the middle of nowhere. Beautiful views, friendly staff, great ambiance and really good food. The steak pie specially was absolutely delicious!!! Highly recommended if it's own your way or even with a little detour.

We stopped here for lunch on our way to Tekapo. We loved it. It is in such a nice spot amongst the mountains & not far off the path to Tekapo. The food was yummy & reasonably priced & the staff were welcoming & friendly. Exactly what you want & need in a drop in cafe.

Came across the Farm Barn Café by chance en-route from Lake Tekapo to Christchurch, the nearest town is Fairlie. We just wanted a coffee and snack. We had excellent coffee and the best blueberry muffins we had in New Zealand. The café has lovely views of the countryside and a lovely atmosphere. We enjoyed looking around the gift shop within... The staff help create the warm, welcoming and relaxing atmosphere. The food is imaginative, different and deliciously cooked on the premises! Farm Barn Cafe is situated in the countryside just a few kilometres outside Fairlie. There were a wonderful range of souvenirs which are mostly locally produced including clothing, cosmetics, woollen rugs, good quality tea towels, jewellery, homemade jams and... More
