Dropped in for an evening meal with the family, two kids 13 & 10. Had heard the food had gone downhill but we had been before, all be it a while ago. So we thought we'd give it a go. We were shown to a table in the conservatory, did realise we were right next to the door to the... More

A good few days based in Baslow which is a good for walking and cycling around Chatworth estate and access up to Baslow, Curbar and Froggats Edge. Our room was small and cosy. Very small Ensuite however No bath. The hotel provided Tea / coffee making facilities and daily bottled water. Free parking. Cooked breakfasts and toast set us up... More

Nice village pub, it's a Marston chain but food and welcome are very good. Value for money that caters for all tastes. Staff friendly and will cater for the fussy eaters if asked. Worth a visit on this popular tourist route.

Have visited this pub/restaurant numerous times over past few years, always been fairly ok for a chain - 1 of the better ones. However, last twice have been different. Both times were with my elderly father who prefers mash with his meal rather than chips, this has never been a problem before but the last twice his meal arrived with... More

Nice pub with hotel , was out walking with the dog it was a cold afternoon so decided to pop in for a drink and a warm. Lovely clean pub and bar area, barman greeting us was polite and helpful. Only one thing dogs aren't allowed in the bar area which is a shame as it would have been nice... More

Fast service and friendly staff. Menu changes but there are more burger choices than before. The standard items are on the menu like fish and chips and steak, but not much variety. In the summer there is a large garden area for sitting out which is very pleasant. This is a family restaurant.

Just visited for a Saturday family lunch with my parents and two children. All adults had fish and chips, which came with raw fish and overcooked batter. My five year old son had a cheese and tomato pizza from the children's menu but none of the adults could cut the edge of the small pizza and it tasted of greasy... More

We booked The Wheatsheaf as a very last minute break as we were looking for somewhere well situated to explore Bakewell, Matlock and Buxton. Having quickly scanned the reviews we were amused by The Manager's responses and felt drawn to book here! We weren't disappointed - fantastic value for money, spacious, well equipped room with super shower. The breakfasts were... More

Having been here a good while a go, we thought we would visit it again this year as we wanted somewhere nice, and also friendly to celebrate our Anniversary. The food was really good, if you were on a diet you could have a large salad instead of chips, the meal was hot, and not over expensive. As usual the... More
