Friendly welcome. Had 2 steak burgers and a mini fish. Arrived promptly and tasted lovely. Made most of the weather by sitting outside with beautiful scenery. Dog friendly

I went with my partner and his aunt a coupel of weeks ago for lunch. They had visited once before but it was so good they decided to take me for their 2nd trip. A lovely rustic feel belied the excellenceof the cuisine - freshly prepared and very generous portions. So much so, even though 2 of us only had... More

A very good pub for walkers wanting some hearty fayre. They seem to be good with 'not too' muddy walking boots as it is a stone floor. The beer was good and the food was excellent. Had the steak burger, lasagne and the pork fillet from the specials board and all very good indeed. Nice wood burning stove kept well... More

We visited here whilst staying at Robin Hood Farm B&B next door. The pub were dog friendly, welcoming our 4 year old greyhound and making a fuss over her! Nice selection of ales on offer. We had an evening meal here and the food was very good quality. Service was quick and prices very reasonable. Log burner made for a... More

Came here two evenings running as we were staying 50 yards away at the excellent Robin Hood Farm B&B. Very popular during the daytime, especially at weekends with local walkers as it's at the start of fabulous walks to Birchen edge or Chatsworth the other way. Stone floor so they don't mind walking boots! The food was excellent, I had... More

We've eaten here a few times. The food is good honest pub food. Drinks are well priced and they welcome walkers.

Went for dinner. Can't recommend the pie highly enough. Very accommodating staff. Great with our 18 month old. Will be back!

Situated in an excellent location is the only thing that I can imagine draw people to this 'pub'. Poor beer choice (no craft or interesting beers- just old school ale) and overpriced food. The WORST thing however was the service. When ordering a coffee, the woman was incredibly rude (I think frustrated at making a coffee - I know they're... More

After a long drive up from the south, the hunger pangs had started so having heard about this pub from my son who lives in Sheffield, we decided to follow the recommendation and were not disappointed. The warm atmosphere and friendly service put us at ease. Food was ordered at the bar along with some ale. The food arrived in... More
