A really interesting baguette with brie and cranberry. A poor and bland tuna sandwich. Wonderful, crispy chips. Very unadventurous and boring side salad. Abba very loud (you may or may not like this). Extremely quiet. Good and friendly service. So? A mixed review. At £22 including a glass of red wine and pint of excellent Piddle Ale, the value is... When the pub is fairly empty during the summer holidays, it should have rang alarm bells. Food was poor and clearly not made fresh - I would think brought in ready made and desert not even defrosted. My first and last visit. There are much better pubs than this in the area. Do not understand the other reviews. Alot of... More

We ordered cod, chips and mushy peas. My husbands fish was lovely and fresh. However my fish was tough to eat and had obviously been cooked twice. It was inedible. I had to leave most of it. The mushy peas had a crust on top and the chips were just about hot. To be fair we didn't complain (my husband... More

Ok meal, service poor, which didn't help as the girl was on her own. Ate our meal with the delightful sound of the locals using foul language at the bar, not what you want to hear. Shame as we revisited it as it was my late fathers favour ate pub.

Excellent food and service given for my Grandsons Celebration Day. We were a party of 16 and the management could not do enough to ensure everything was correct for us

After a walk round the locality, we just managed to get in before last orders for food. We chose the Pensioners Specials. The ladies had plaice and chips, and I had Steak and Kidney Pudding. The food was well cooked and presented, and served by very helpful staff. Excellent value for money.

Lovely spot by a stream selling good ale ,food on the bar on Sunday lunchtime ( nice touch ) lots of nice seats outside and the lunches looked okay .There was a singer there in the afternoon and lots of drinking going on ,when we returned for an evening meal unfortunately the atmosphere outside where we were sitting was not... Pros: excellent food, dog friendly, good baby change Cons: pretty much in the middle of nowhere, slightly worn-out sort of atmosphere We chose this pub on the basis of a Google review which mentioned dogs. When we arrived I was slightly apprehensive as the pub was empty and also felt slightly worn-down in atmosphere. However we were served with grace... More

The meal was superb! Wonderful size portions that didn't disappoint! I had the lasagne absolutely lovely way to much but lovely! Not one complaint from our table. I only offer a little friendly constructive criticism the chips were a little to crispy with my lasagne! And for a party of ten three kids and seven adults £100+ not a bad... More
