After a nice drive from Waterloo through Algonquin provincial park and heading for Ottawa, this lovely restaurant was a great early supper stop. We are from a schnitzel-loving area so I was prepared to be disappointed, but was definitely not. The Escargot was also very good. Let down a bit by the wine, a Pinot Grigio.
The waitress was very pleasant and could answer any questions we had on the menu. Nice patio area as well.

We have eaten at this establishment for a few years now and better late than never to write a great review. Do not want to tell too many people and not get any seats. LOL We also drive one hour to get here for supper but it is really worth the drive.
The portion sizes are great. Most schnitzels come in two sizes, so if you are hungry get the large portion. We lived in Germany with the Canadian Forces for eight years, so it's fabulous to get a great selection of German food. They take reservations and you definitely needed to book before the Covid Pandemic.
The service is great, the food and deserts are amazing. Never felt rushed or pushed out the door to flip any tables. It's in a small town of Eaganville, Ontario. We keep going back and bring our friends and family along. Can't wait for the restaurants to open again after the current lockdown and this place is high on our list of places to eat a great meal at a reasonable prices. Can't say enough about the quality and presentation of the food.
Great beer but the ladies would love to see a few more selections of white wine. It is our only criticism about the place. A few liters of the white house wine and you do not think about it any more.

The Food and service is very welcoming and the Schnitzel never disappoints us. Family group of 12. Late lunch-early supper. Ages 10 , teens, parents, and grandparents. Staff very friendly and accomdating. Chef has prepared good food! Thanks! 😎👌

Would give it a 3 and 1/2. Food was good. Decor was nice. Nice atmosphere. Only complaint and reason for the 3 1/2 star was the giant crepe. Size definitely shareable. Fresh whipped cream and cream with a bit of chocolate ganache but it was supposed to be a banana crease there were literally 6 very thin half slices in the giant crepe. Bananas are cheap. There should be no reason to do that.

For years my wife and I have driven through Eganville from Ottawa, en route to destinations west of Eganville. We’ve always noted the Granery and have said maybe we should stop and try it sometime. This weekend, we made a special trip with the Granery as a destination. We are delighted that we did.
The food was excellent. The schnitzel was to die for, as were the superb mashed potatoes. with thick brown gravy. Salads are wonderful. The Sacher Torte is excellent. The service was friendly, and the sanitary precautions during this time of pandemic were exemplary. The patio tables are solid wood, not tippy at all as with some patios we’ve experienced. The quantities are substantial, the prices very reasonable.
Eganville is a great day trip from Ottawa, and Golden Lake with the public beach and picnic tables is another prime destination only about 20 minutes west of Eganville. For anyone carrying on to Algonquin Park, this is a great way to break the trip. It is also a great destination for a day trip.

My wife and I were here for lunch in Aug. of 2022. Good food at a reasonable price. The building is historic (their website says c. 1889) and the period decor and works by local artists contribute to the overall dining experience. Friendly staff, clean facilities. If I'm in Eganville again I'll definitely go back.

I go to the Granery occasionally when I am in the area. They are known for their Schnitzel. I have tried several different types and none disappoint. Huge portions, all made from scratch. Great home style meals, great value for $!

Stopped by on a Monday on our way through town looking for somewhere to go for lunch. We stumbled over the Granary and are glad we did. Waitress was very friendly and provided great suggestions. I had the schnitzel sandwich for lunch and it was excellent. The building had a great ambiance, the washrooms were spotless. Highly recommended.

The service and food were excellent. Schnitzel was amazing and the milkshakes were some of the best we've ever had. portions were large and the price was more than reasonable. Plenty of local artwork on the walls.

The service & food was excellent! I had the Bavarian Schnitzel which had smoked meat & sauerkraut in it and potatoes & veggies were fresh & hot!
My wife had the Club Salad and it was huge and delicious!
Looking forward to going back!

Went here for supper with family who live in Eganville.
Place was busy but service was great, food was delicious! Did not think I would eat all of my chicken schnitzel, but shy of licking my plate….

Nice place, good service and a wonderful selection of schnitzel dishes. The Granary was an unexpected find in a small town. There is an outdoor patio for alfresco dining.
