Went with our 3 year old and 1 year old. High chair was clean. Wasn’t busy. I got the schnitzel on a bun with a salad and it was really good. Good portion size. My husband had a club sandwich and fries. I didn’t love their fries. He enjoyed his meal. My kids had the grilled cheese platter. Good service. Friendly and fast. I would eat here again.

This is one of my favourite restaurants in the area. My husband and I have enjoyed a few delicious meals over the past 8 years when ever we were in the area. Now that we live only 1/2 hour away, I look forward to many more delicious meals here. The staff are always very friendly and accommodating, whether it is just two of us or 12 of us.

My wife and I came to the Granary Schnitzelhouse to celebrate her birthday and we were not disappointed. Initially we were going to go for Schitzel. There is a great selection. Instead we opted for the Saltimbocca, a house signature dish. It was outstanding!! Saltimbocca is a tenderized pork loin filled with smoked bacon, parmesan and havarti cheese. It was smothered with a buttery gravy sauce and served with whipped potatoes and fresh carrots. We would recommend it to any and all.

Nice place. Ok food. Ok service. Clean. Tons of snitzels. Nothing negative, just something seemed missing. Try it and let me know.

My husband and I went for lunch today. We really enjoy schnitzel and there isn't one restaurant that has it in our town. I had the plain schnitzel. I really like the crunch so I didn't want any sauce on top of it. It was excellent and a very nice size piece. Rather than have the mashed potatoes and veg with it I asked for the spaetzle and red cabbage. I did ask if the red cabbage had the nice sharp taste of vinegar like sauerkraut does and was told it was more sweet so I have to accept the blame for not changing my mind. Yes, it was sweet rather than acidy. And acid is what the whole plate lacked despite the slice of lemon for the schnitzel. The spaetzle was soft and very plain. What it lacked was the final step when making it and that is to saute it in some butter or even bacon fat. Would that ever have brought it up to "WOW"! I have to say that I did eat everything on my plate it was just that I could not rate it as excellent. My husband had the Bavarian schnitzel with mashed potatoes and gravy and broccoli and carrots as the veg. He also cleaned up his plate but did say the potatoes and veg were 'just ordinary'. I don't know what he expected. Potatoes and boiled veg are ordinary. I did taste his schnitzel which he really enjoyed and I must say the sauerkraut stuffed in it really did the trick. It was delicious. I would rate that as excellent for sure. For dessert we shared a piece of the Sachertorte. I'm not a chocolate fan but I did have two bites rather than my usual one because the apricot glaze in the torte really set it off.. We will probably not return because we were just visiting the area but if I did come to Eganville again I would definitely know what to order next time.

Known across the Renfrew area/Ottawa Valley for its schnitzels and other European themed food. The food is pretty good and the majority is made fresh on location. Probably the best option for eating in Eganville.

We found the Granary by accident when we were driving from Algonquin to Ottawa. We stopped in a car park in Eganviille to look for somewhere for lunch and saw the Granary so decided to go there. The place was almost deserted. I think there was one couple when we arrived but they left and another couple arrived. That said, the hosting was excellent. We felt neither rushed nor ignored. My husband had a schnitzel and I had a small salad. The food was lovely and just what we needed. Portion sizes were good for us (not too large!). On the whole a lovely stopover.

We read about this restaurant on Tripadvisor and decided to seek it out on our way through Eganville. It was a very late lunch as we couldn't find any other restaurants for the previous hour, but it was worth the wait! Love schnitzels so that was even better. The service was excellent and the decor was tastefully done. We each had a different schnitzel on the menu and all three of us were delighted with our choice. We noted a sign advertising tortiere pies to go. We took a frozen one with us and later enjoyed one of the best we had ever tasted. The food was so good we later drove back here later in the week for dinner; again excellent German food as we tried different items. Then we decide to have just one dessert among the three so ordered the crepe with warm raspberries, ice cream, whipped cream and drizzled with chocolate - BIG MISTAKE. It was so big the three of us could hardly finish it, but too good to leave any on the plate. This time when we left we bought 2 tortieres to go, Our only disappointment is that this place is 5 hours from home - too far to visit often,

Had a great sever who did very well considering he was alone with a surprise influx of customers. The food was excellent, nicely spiced, great portions and hot. I would highly recommend as a go to place to eat in Eganville.

My wife and I stopped in at the Granary for lunch during a recent visit to Eganville. We are vacationing in Canada for the week, and have toured a number of picturesque towns and other areas. We were greeted courteously at the Granary and seated at a window table with a nice view. The menu was extensive, including schnitzel (apparently their specialty) and crepes for dessert, but we opted to try their house made bratwurst served on a hard roll with sauerkraut, mustard and French fries. The bratwurst was tasty - seasoned just right, and tender. Our waiter provided excellent and courteous service, and we thought the prices were very reasonable. This restaurant is a hidden jewel in the small town of Eganville, and we recommend it highly.

I, along with my friends, always make a point to stop at the Granary on our way back to Ottawa from island camping at Lake Clear. Lunch at the Granary is a highlight of these expeditions, which usually take place several times every summer. The schnitzel is amazing, and the portions quite generous. The whipped potatoes are also delicious. I'll be in the area again this weekend, and am looking forward to another visit!

My husband and I were going through Eganville on a Tuesday. We chose the Granary for supper and were not disappointed. We arrived close to 6 pm and it was not too busy then but by 6:30 there were quite a few patrons so we would advise getting there before 6 pm to have more seating options. Our service was prompt and the waitresses were quite friendly. We shared the Rouladen which was excellent and the generous portion fed us both nicely. Sometimes I find that restaurant gravy can be too salty but the gravy with our meal was perfect. We had a side order of garlic toast which was good also. For dessert we shared the Crepe Denmark which was sinfully good and filled the plate (photo included). It was easily big enough for 3 or even 4 people to share. It would appear that the artwork changes as while we were there the paintings depicted lovely scenes of nature including forests and lakes. Note that the menu link on Trip Advisor does not provide current information. Some of the appetizers are no longer offered but there is still plenty of choice and prices have changed increased a little. The website for the restaurant does not include a detailed menu. Nevertheless prices were reasonable based on the generous portions and the quality of the food. We would not hesitate to return when we are next in the area. The shared rouladen, dessert, garlic bread and one coffee came to $40 before the tip.

My wife and I eat here at least once a year when we come to town from our cottage for golf or groceries. It is a schnitzel restaurant so if you like schnitzel, it's for you The food is quite good and reasonably priced. The art work inside gives it quite a bit of charm.
