It was so excellent the first night. We went back for second night and it was again delicious. Shrimp the second night fall off the beans ribs. Awesome

Very disappointed. Nice ambiance , waitress was pleasant . I realize it was Fathers Day and anticipated a longer wait . Has reservations for 11. Got in 10:55. For two bacon and eggs it was 1.15 minute wait for our food. Each time i asked...the waitress she said "soon"or we would have left. Bacon burnt to a crisp and food was luke warm. I called the manager a(Nikki) after I left , she was defensive, dismissive and blamed me as the customer lmao. I indicated that with a hour and 115 min wait, at least the coffee should have been complimentary. She indicated that I was now out of the restaurant so nothing she could do now. Which isn't the case. Very poor customer service and management. I appreciate the wiatress and also those in the kitchen , they can only do so much . This is poor management issue (staff cut back ). The manager indicated that everyone has had to wait. If 1.15 minutes is suppose to be normal I'll definately won't be back . I have no issue with service being less than optimal at times but management should be accountable. Saying everyone had to wait. At 1.15 minutes I hope not, and is no excuse.More

Was horrible,calamari was like chewing on deep fried rubber bands, mussels were just as bad not hot, no flavor at all in a warm milk sauce,was suppose to be cream sauce very bland tough spinach with long thick stems not edible not going back ,stay...awayMore

In previous years the Symposium was a great place to have lunch or dinner. My husband and I were there on Nov 6/22 and we were disappointed with both the service and the food. It was not a busy day at all. The waitress didn't...seem too interested in getting us drinks, when ours sat empty for quite a while. The maitre'd recognized that we were trying to get our waitress' attention, and she asked her to give us some attention. We had to wait a long time to get our bill as well. The food was disappointing. I ordered fish tacos, and my husband ordered fish and chips. Not at all what you'd expect for the price. With dining out getting more expensive all the time, we won't be back to this place.More

My wife and I had our first visit to this restaurant for dinner last weekend. We were thoroughly impressed from start to finish. They were very very busy but they gave us a nice table and a friendly server named Joel. He was very helpful...as we had lots of questions about the interesting menu. We chose the shrimp as an appetizer and we could not have been happier with the choice. The Pad Thai was excellent and very plentiful. For dessert we selected the Tiramisu and it was fresh and tasty. We are both looking forward to our next visit. Thanks again for a wonderful dining experience at the quaint town of Lindsay. Great job !!More

I was greeted and seated right away. The waitress was very friendly. I ordered a glass of wine and she brought the wine menu to me. My friend showed up and was served right away as well. The menu is extensive. The waitress helped with...a couple of suggestions. It took a few minutes to make up our my minds and the waitress could see that when we were ready to order, came over right away. She was very attentive throughout our meal. Food was very good. Eggs were cooked perfectly and the burger was made in house. Very juicy.More

was unbelievably poor. The worst I’ve ever experienced. I had been there one previous time at lunchtime out on the patio and it seemed OK. Our friends suggested that they wanted to try it for dinner. Happily the food was better than the service, but...really just OK. The restaurant was not busy when we got there at 5:00 PM, so we were before any kind of dinner rush. The girl at the door asked us if we wanted a booth or a table and we said a table and then she brought us to a booth. No big deal.. But just funny because she just asked and then started walking with us and took us to the wrong place. She left us menus and pointed to a blonde waitress that she said would be over in a minute. Our waitress didn’t come near us for about 10 minutes and then took a drink order, out of which she only brought 3 out of 4 of our drinks. So we asked for my husbands pop again. And then she was completely missing from the floor for about another 10 or 15 minutes. We asked the the girl who seated us if someone was going to take our order. Because new people had sat down and she had taken their order. The girl we asked looked at us blankly and just told us, the waitress would be there soon. She never made any attempt to let her know we were looking for her. Finally, “our waitress” came out from the back room and served us. No mention of the delay or anything, which was obvious in an empty restaurant. We placed our order and asked for my husband‘s pop again. Then when she brought us dinner, she walked away very quickly and we had to flag her down to ask her a third time for his pop. Again, the restaurant was not busy and the girl was not even the least apologetic, after making us flag her down to ask her a third time. Of course, It’s ok to forget something… But forgetting three times is a little scary lol. We then waited forever for the table to be cleaned up and for the Bill to be brought. There was never any real friendliness. I wouldn’t say she was rude, but she was certainly not friendly or inviting…I’m quite sure this will be our last time to the restaurant. Our friends were disappointed because they were looking forward to trying it . We managed to have a nice visit with our friends but as far as the restaurant goes , It was just a disappointing visit all the way aroundMore

We were seated quickly … and that’s where the service ended. We waited for almost 20 minutes with our one year old child and no one even acknowledged us or took our order. We eventually left without anyone even noticing. Pretty sad customer service, would...not recommend for families or anyone who values their time.More

From the moment we got there the greeter was rude and abrupt. She told us to seat our selves and gave us the menu. We waited for someone to come to take our order. She brought us water then didn't come back for 10 minutes....She was training another lady who was lovely, We order the spinach dip - It had shredded carrots and was warm - the pitas were delicious. The salads were both mildly tasteless and she gave my daughter ranch salad dressing on the side for the Cobb salad. The salmon on mine was delicious but the salad was bland with raw mushrooms . Very disappointed for the excessive price and 2 ice tea. Will not be back .More

Went up to friend's cottage on Sturgeon Lake, took a half day and had no time to make food because we had to get on the highway before the long weekend traffic jam. Of course everyone was starving. Google LCBO in Lindsay and saw Symposium...in same parking lot. We go to Symposium Thornhill regularly so knew we could call for take out. Called ahead to arrange pick up time and while my better half got adult refreshments, I pick up Chicken Parm meal, salmon salad, two burgers and wings to share. packaged carefully as usual and if the environment is important to you, the individual food containers are compostable. Kids loved the burgers especially this time with sweet potato fries. Couldn't eat the chicken parm noodles too easily in the car just ate the chicken and left the noodles for late night snack. also brought two pieces of carrot cake as a gift to our hosts. Food was delicious and packaged carefully so no in car disasters. Very pleasant staff- nice patio if you have the time to stop.More

Decent good, non existent service We visited this restaurant, which we’ve been to many times before, this past Saturday. We ordered and received our meals, server was a young lady who was great, and our meals were good as usual. The problem came when we...got our desert. My kids always order their warm cookie with ice cream. They only had one left so they shared, no problem there. Problem is when the get it, it’s a hard as a hockey puck. Ok, things happen. Asked the young lady to ask the manager to see us. He looks over and goes about making himself busy behind the counter doing anything else. 10 minutes later our server goes and reminds him. Still nothing. Restaurant is almost empty at this point and we realize he’s not coming to see us at all. Terrible service. This “manager” (Alex I think was his name) deserves to be fired. He has no idea what customer service is. A quick apology and a coupon or credit for this would have easily solved the problem. See the video, would you eat this? So happy with this restaurant. I’ve dined at the Ajax, north Oshawa, and now Lindsay locations several times and every time I have a great meal. Todays meal was in Lindsay, we had the California chicken sandwich, and the Persian chicken burrito and both were...excellent. Great flavours! The calamari was nicely cooked but a little bland for my taste. Our server Roxanne was a hoot! She was delightful. It was my birthday and they brought us a delicious ice cream treat. This was the third time I’ve dined at Lindsay Symposium and it is definitely not going to be my last.More

We were driving thru Lindsay on our way home from closing the cottage and stopped in for a bite to eat. We were so surprised at how good the food, service and atmosphere was here. We would recommend to any looking for a good variety...of choices ranging from burgers to pasta. We will for sure be back.More
