Wow! We went there with my family and we were very suprised by the great mood in the place. All the meals were delicious but my lobster poutine was a highlight for us. The service by the waitress was also very friendly. Really nice place for seafood lovers in Sainte-Flavie!

The decore in this place is outstanding and service was fast and the young (Kelly Roy) was exceptional. But I can honestly say this is one of the worst meals I have had in a long time..My steak was so small I would say the size of a plum witch cost 34.00 ..I could not cut it with the steak knife nor could I chew it and I asked for medium ..It came with about 15 fries and a very small salad ... When they give you the menu beside each meal is a price but that is not the price you are charged...If you do drop in make it a point to ask the price of the meal you are ordering because let me tell you when you receive your bill you are in for a shock...Would I return ( nope )

Busy restaurant right on the water. Service was quick and very friendly. Decore was fun and they have a little gift area to go shopping. Food was very good and plentiful. I had the seafood cassarole which was delicious. Overall, it's a fun place to eat on the water.

Pricey but for a change, you almost get ypur money's worth. Food is good, service is good, views are good. If not in a hurry, a great stop in the area.

At first we just stop over on this resto on our way to Perce. The restaurant interior design looks great. They are selling souvenir things that you can bring home. The decorations is so cozy. The food price is reasonable but everything we order are delicious. Value for money. The view of St. Lawrence River is your background. We will definitely go back in this resto when we go to Maritimes again.

Well as usual the food was good ,the service was a 3 1/2 and unfortunately the Capitaine Homard with all the sea food assortments plate was missing the 🦀 crab meat. 🤷‍♂️ It not going to keep us from going back but kind of disappointed as I was expecting more!😔

I went to captain Howard yesterday, aug 24, with my family; we were seated close, too close to a couple, less than one feet from my wife’s back. The woman in the other table was coughing and sneezing and when we asked the waitress to have more distance or to change the table, she allowed us to change table, commenting that the lady was not an health issue..... !!!!! How can she knew??? Was she a doctor doing night service in a restaurant ????? Anyway, We changed table, we ordered and we waited one hour, despite the restaurant was not full, to receive our food. I ordered 2 entrees, the Nordic shrimps and the fried calamari. I received one dish with some crustaceans and, believing was the shrimps I started eating... when the waiter arrived again with one more shrimp dish, and he explained me that the first dish was a mistake... he delivered scampi instead of shrimps.... he then delivered the fried calamari too, but they were overcooked and the colour was dark brown... not good at all. The rest of the food was at the boded between poor and acceptable... As I read is some other review, the new owners need to learn faster, like instructing the waiters to smile and to be more gentle with the customers, but especially to reorganize the Restaurant layout Respecting the minimal distance of 2 feet’s between the people seated. Very disappointing.

The restro seemed a popular place in the region, after waiting for sometime, we finally got a spot in the restaurant. WE were led to a room with two long tables that each can accommodate around 10 people. But once everybody sat, the distance between my seat and the person sitting along the the long table is around 1 foot. And then those kids started to yell and shout on the top of their lungs and the whole room was filled with noise. If one of the kids had corvid, then everyone who dined in the room would get it. There was no window open to outside, the air was not circulating. It was when we decided to step out did they agreed to change us to another seat in another room. The drinks tastes like water, coleslaw tasted rotten. Never will go to that restaurant again. The Quebec government should send people to check the arrangement of the restro and cancel their license to operate.

This place gets a five-star rating for being outrageously fun and funky - and unashamedly about LOBSTER. I had the salad - which was absolutely full of delicious, juicy, fresh lobster - and my companions were equally delighted with the fish and chips, and with the lobster dinner. We had key lime pie for dessert, and it tasted like the real thing in Florida. The atmosphere and the decor are totally fun. A great night. And good food.

Have seen this restaurant advertised many times while travelling from Montreal. As we were travelling in the area of Rimouski, decided to try it for an early supper. Disastrous mistake. Ordered Calamari which was ok and 1.5 lb lobster, lobster was among worst I have tasted, flaccid and tasteless! As if cooked in fresh water. Salad and rice were fine. Table 6 receipt #173401

Really should have read some of the latest comments... We ordered some tartare... one was supposed to include avocado... no sign of it... Well not so much of an issue... just overall tasteless... a good benchmark? Just pick a below average school cantine... and you get it! Pass your way!

Locals do not recommend this restaurant. Had dinner here our first night in the maritimes. Very disappointing and not worth the price. 80$ for two tartares and two drinks. Salad with our plates consisted of lettuce and tomatoe slices. This place trys attracting tourists with their cheesy decor. Drive 20 mins longer towards metis sur mer and eat at Le Matelot instead. Don't waste your money here

If you're traveling up the Gaspé Coast, Capitaine Homard should definitely be on your list of attractions to visit. The restaurant is a typical, family-oriented seafood restaurant that you would expect to see in any similar coastal town, anywhere. But that's what makes it such a fun and pleasant place. They have all kinds of knickknacks hanging from the ceiling - lobster tails, plush lobster, plush fish, plush seabirds, captain hats, plus so much else. Food is delicious, many different choices for both seafood lovers and those who prefer something from land. We stopped both on the way and way back - lobster both times, and both times thoroughly enjoyed!

What do you expect at Capitaine Homard! Well it has to be lobster! Available three ways: steamed, grilled with butter and breadcrumbs or grilled Thermidor with sauce! We had one each of the first two and spent a pleasant half hour taking the lobster apart and breaking up claws for the perfect lobster meat that fell out of the shell. Great sides including baked potato and slaw. Excellent service from Julie! We will be back soon to try out some of the other delicious items on the menu and probably lobster again!
