Driving along Highway 24 we were tempted by signs for cappuccino and ended up at Lac Des Roches. We were welcomed by a lovely Italian family and ordered 2 coffees. We were quickly offered home made cake - so ordered one piece.
To our total shock the bill for two tiny cappuccinos and portion of cake was $25.
Other guests were also stung. So all I would say is ask prices before ordering or perhaps even better drive on by.

We too were enticed by the red 'CAPPUCCINO!" signs along the highway so decided we needed to check it out. The owner, an Italian fellow, was very pleasant and made the BEST cappuccino and espresso. Those signs don't lie. He proudly offered us cake and we honestly didn't want to offend him because we kind of felt like we were in his home :) Anyway, we shared some lemon cake and it was fine. The bill was a bit of a SHOCK: $23 for cake and the 2 drinks. There are no menus so you really don't know in advance what the prices are. The decor in the main restaurant building is eclectic to say the least. No shortage of "stuff" on the walls to look at. We enjoyed chatting with two German couples who had camped there the night before and seemed to be enjoying their visit. All in all, we really enjoyed our little diversion off the beaten path. Sometimes you just have to try these things - keep a sense of adventure, and enjoy experiences for what they are. Can't comment on the accommodation as we did not stay - just a CAPPUCCINO! and bathroom stop. The scenery sure is stunning in the area and this resort is no exception. Even on a rainy morning, it was lovely and peaceful. And the cappuccino truly was worth stopping for :)

4 main courses offered. Home made pasta was excellent although sauce was lacking. dish was very dry. For what they were, meals were expensive. (about $25/ea)

Like many other reviewers, I too saw the signs for Cappuccino and decided to get a snack.
The walk from parking to the Restaurant was further than expected & I regretted not bringing my rain-jacket.
I was the only patron; I ordered Americano and was offered the Lemon Cake.
The total cost was CDN16.50 (w/Tax) which I felt was high for such a simple snack.
However, the cake was very good; the view from my table looking through the window across the lake was spectacular.; and the BC #24 road has few cafes etc.
Overall my rating is based on the overall experience; but do ask for a price list before ordering!!

We’ve just moved the this area a year ago and drove by the signs cappuccino, lunch. We decided to go down one night for dinner and met Luca & Georgio. All I can say is wow. Everything is home made & the service is the best we were even offered a tour of the kitchen and it was immaculate. The view overlooking lac des roches lake is so beautiful too. Very romantic and peaceful. Whether your a family or couple you will really enjoy this restaurant. I think the prices are very competitive this is not a spaghetti factory this is a special upscale restaurant in a rural atmosphere. Can’t wait to go again.

Stopped for a quick drink whilst driving on HW24. Was not given a menu and nothing was displayed. Ordered one capuccino and two cups of tea and was asked if we wanted cake - I'm glad I said no as when the bill was presented the cost was $23. Where does this guy think he is, St Marks Square in Venice? As we drove away I wondered if he had singled us out as idiots but no, looking on here they treat everyone the same! Surprised the owner had any teeth left.

We asked for lumch but unfortunately did not ask the price as the place appeared quite modest. They offered Lasagna, Tortellini, or chicken cacciatore. We both chose a pasta dish which came from a microwave sprinkled with Parmesan. The food was awful! My lasagna was layers of pasta with a tiny bit of sauce - no filling and virtually no ground beef. We were forced to buy a bottle of water as they said their tap water was not safe to drink! My wife was ill after eating her Tortellini! I had a coffee and my wife had a cappuccino and the bill came to $74.95 The LUNCH was $28.95 each!!!! These folks now have the record for the biggest rip off that we have experienced in Canada. Avoid this place at all costs as they are scam artists. I don't know how they stay in business!

We drove to the end of the driveway where the sign said "espresso" and "lunch"; decided to try this as it is my husband's 79th birthday; the owner said it is only Italian, and the three items on the menu were canneloni, lasagne, chicken cacciatore; okay since it was his birthday we thought we'd give it a try; very nice environment of a log cabin house overlooking the lake. MISTAKE: we never asked the price of each entre; we had water (we were asked if we wanted sparkling or straight - I said straight thinking tap water); and then a coffee each. Each entree (without salad) was $28.50 (ouch), water $7.95 (believe that?) and $4.95 each for coffee. Okay can live with that. The total came to $74.85. We were shocked having okay, mediocre Italian food (I am a good cook), for that kind of money for lunch. Maybe $15.00 each entree would have been more like it for something special. I don't usually write critiques, bad or good, but this needs to be seen by those thinking of visiting them. I emailed the owner suggesting he have a price menu for the items.

Stayed at Lac Des Roches Resort for 8 nights and ate here for 3. Luca is a fantastic cook and even offered us some items not officially on the menu. Best bruschetta and pasta ever. Friendly and knowledgeable service. Accommodated walk in groups with friendliness and hospitality (which isn't always the case at restaurants in the area).

Was shocked by the cost. Commented to owner about cost and was told it was fresh baked cakes but they actually came out of the freezer and were microwaved to soften them up and warm through and cappuccino was actually filter coffee with frothy top

Went on a date night with my wife to try it out. The pasta was fantastic and the beef was also excellent. Beautiful location and view from the dinning room, but for two meals (no appy's) and two glasses of wine, $86 is a bit steep.

Real homemade pasta and gnocci from scratch! You can taste the real "italien" food, like Italy! Couldn't be better. They cook from the region they come from. Everything they cook you can recomment. If you don't like it , never ever go to Italy, because this is the real food you get here. Highly recommended!!!

We went to this restaurant for coffee and cake, as a break from driving. The prices are (indeed) high but the beautiful lake view and atmosphere are worth a visit.
