... in CelestĂşn and this is one of them. Obviously lots of seafood on the menu- my shrimp was very good also the margaritas (I was guaranteed that the ice was OK). Friendly service. Go at sunset (although I gather the place tends to close at 7:00 or so)

A lot of seafood offerings on the menu. I wanted to try the deep fried octopus, but deep fried in Mexico doesn’t mean with the crust, it means they dunk the octopus into hot oil and then pull it out. Now the flavor is good, but it’s a little too crunchy for my taste. The restaurant is right on the beach so you can have your feet in the sand while you’re looking at the ocean under a Palapa.

Great food. Yucatecan cuisine, seafood , right on a palm covered beach with a wonderful view and atmosphere. All the dishes were wonderful. .

We were brought here by our tour guide, my wife being a sometimes flexible vegetarian had a fish dish. Her opinion is that the catch of the day was yummy, well cooked and a generous portion. Myself, as a stricter vegetarian only had French fries as an option, however after a conversation with the waitress they adapted one of their pasta dishes for me (and charged less).

This is an amazing oasis for the whole family as well as the business traveller. I have been coming here since 2004 and it has evolved from a sleepy oceanside cantina to a 5 star restaurant that rivals some of the best in Merida.
All the staff have a specific job and all are attentive to your every need. I moved 3 times one afternoon and they smiled and helped me carry my computers!
After dipping your toes in the warm clear ocean one can sit directly on the playa under an umbrella or you can choose to savor your meal inside the huge palapa. Live music is sometimes playing nut what makes this place special is THE FRESH SEAFOOD!!!

In a beach town with few good food options, this is a gift from Poseidon. Fresh seafood and shrimp that will make you salivate in your nostalgic moments. Nice views, helpful waiters. It's either this or something cooked on a grill attached to a motorcycle. Don't try to figure out what time it's open.

They discriminate against mexicans.
I invite to foreign tourists: please do not consume in La Palapa, give support to Mexicans.
They pretend to change the name, so new administration is doing things wrong.
I was there in January 2023 for the fifth time, but this time I went with all my family including parents, siblings, nieces and nephews. We are Mexicans from Querétaro, but we love Yucatán.
In La Palapa they suggested we are no the public they want to have. So they tell us the minimum check per person was $400 MXN, we accepted, but in addition of that, they forbade to keep there for more of two hours even if we pretend to follow consuming.
I have to say I saw many foreigners who stayed there for more than 4 hours.

While staying at Celestun we tried a few restaurants and felt that La Palapa was the best spot for dinner on the beach (we recommend El Lobo in town for pizza, plus breakfast or Dolphin - see my other reviews). The combination of beach sunsets, great service, a varied menu, fresh caught seafood and reasonable prices cannot be beat (everything in Mexico is so inexpensive, so honestly I don't understand why anyone really complains about prices anywhere). You have the choice to dine inside or out and the whole place had such great vibes and friendly staff. As a vegetarian, I could not eat any seafood, but my boyfriend loved his meals and for me, the guacamole was outstanding and with chips, a meal unto itself. Try La Palapa and enjoy a great time! Before dinner, you can stroll along the beach, collect seashells, swim...then eat and watch the sunset...what a lovely way to spend an evening.

Restaurant right by the beach in the small town of Celestun and I was pleasantly surprised.
Adrián was our waiter and he gave us great service.
Besides the beautiful seaside view the food was excellent. I had the one of them best
lobsters I’ve ever had and my wife had a delicious shrimp.

We went here for lunch after strolling and laying on the beautiful beach. They have showers to rinse the sand and salt. We chose to sit under roof to get some relief from the hot sun. The beers were cold. Had the best grilled grouper and my wife had shrimp. Excellent service in English ':)

Feet in the sand, crab tortilla in one hand, fresh lemonade in the other, sound of the waves in your ear...
This restaurant was wonderful the service a little less but the food clearly dominated the service. The restaurant has its own showers and we can go into the sea while keeping our table and our belongings safe!
Probably one of the best restaurants on vacation.
PS: the crab salad is delicious!!!

The food was horrible! The fries were soggy and seemed microwaved, same for the coconut shrimp. Find another place, it’s not worth the money.

In small Celestun, this is the perfect place to enjoy a delicious lunch on the beach. Friendly service, normal and acceptable prices, good seating comfort and of course a beautiful view!
