This restaurant is a typically Spanish establishment, which is good to see. The waiter (who was very friendly) took our drinks' order. Unfortunately, although the wine arrived, we needed to ask again, quite some time later, for the water we'd also ordered, initially. The cod in a light batter, came with a minuscule amount of ratatouille-like vegetables. Although the presentation... More

We went to watch the fireworks and happened upon this little gem of a restaurant, the food and service were exceptional! and not overly priced either.

We've had dinner at El Bodegon de Pepe twice in a few days. We really enjoyed it both times. Service is really nice and efficient. The location is great. Food is absolutely delicious. The menu is small in size, which is generally a good sign. Everything is cooked from fresh ingredients sourced from local providers (all the way to French... More

This place was very special and had a huge history just serving mussels and sardines mainly. I understand that this had a limited market so the menu has expanded as it was handed down the family chain. However, sadly it has lost its uniqueness and now has much competition. :(

This restaurant has been open for a long time, serves great food with many dishes typically Spanish and it is well worth a visit. Ask for the menu del dia and you won't be disappointed.

This place has a good Spanish feel inside, but initial service is slow (staff more interested in having a beer and a smoke outside). I wanted good fish, ignored the fact that the place was empty (compared to nearby choices) and put my faith in what appeared to be the most Spanish restaurant on the row. Big mistake, the mixed... This lovely restaurant with an amazing view of the Mediterranean Sea was recommended by the hotel clerk. The ladies who served us were so nice and accommodating. We filled ourselves with such an array of fresh seafood and local wines that we had to take a taxi back to Tossal d'Altea for an afternoon nap. One of the best meals... More
