We have been coming to this restaurant for over 17 years and always have an excellent meal. We usually choose one of the set menus which, for the quality of the food, are very reasonable. The food is fresh, innovative and delicious. The setting - overlooking the estuary - is beautiful and ever changing.

Mineral water not chilled, red wine not chilled, amuse bouche not tasty at all and mignardises came after the bill fat too late. The management is not going the extra miles for better guest experience. Gluten free bread not available and once requested during order a clear NO was mentioned. Overcooked prawns for starter. Will not go back

For me good, and worth improvement at the same time. Plus: kitchen really good, setting beautiful, above average interior. Minus: staff needs more training, menu seems not to change (looks like printed for eternity) & no daily menu, no bread plates, no butter offered, portions smallish, all served on small plates or soup plates. Lacks generosity. Wine list needs improvement.... More

I have eaten at this restaurant at least once a year for the last 25years. In that time it has never ever disappointed me. The food is always excellent inventive and delightful. The welcome is outstanding and the views from the restaurant are a delight -views directly out over the bay. The wine list is very well chosen and you can... More

To be transparent with everyone, my parents live just beside this hotel/restaurant and the chef is my friend. I read reviews in English and in French, and most of the reviews from French clients are excellent. In English some of the reviews are good and some others (quite descriptive and I respect the authors) are quite negative. I live abroad... More

Hotel + restaurant are in a great setting, with view from restaurant across inland bay towards Foret. However service + food didn't match the setting or the price tag. Lobster starter was good (at 31 Euros that might be expected!), but the steak main course was overcooked (mine was actually the least bad of the 3 saignant/rare ones that we... More

Dear chef/ restaurant owner. Your restaurant is beautiful, the location, the art work, the table cloths , the cutlery, it is designed to perfection.I couldn't fault it. When a restaurant takes so much pride in its appearance a certain expectation arises. Without sounding pompous I have been lucky enough to dine at some of the finest restaurants in the world... Set up in an amazing location, this old style hotel offers a fantastic restaurant. The room is split in two parts, one being for the hotel residents and the other one (nicest) for the walk-in guest. Reservation is a must and you need to ask for a table by the windows to enjoy the fantastic view. Food menu is subtile... More

Haven't had a meal with such finesse and artistry and subtlety since the good old days of our first trip to France and Lameloise, Guy Savoy, Marc Meneau, etc. I hate sardines, but the amuse bouche was so delicate and fragrant that I thoroughly enjoyed it. Hot and cold asparagus with crab as an entree was such a hit that... More

Having experienced such menus at Michael Caines 'Abode' in Exeter, whilst every tiny course may not be quite to everyone's taste, I could not say we ever encountered anything downright nasty. This 5 course menu at 65 euros varied from 'strange/the tomato sauce killed the bit of lobster and tiny tasty legumes/bass under-cooked/what are bits of red sugar doing with... More
