We had dinner here two nights in a row, by lack of other acceptable options. As in many cheap Islandic restaurants, you get to choose between burgers, pizzas and fish and chips. In this case there's litterally nothing else on the menu. Quality is ok,...service is swift. Most prices were reasonable, only the pizzas were rather expensive compared to other similar places we've been to.More

Started with a Viking Beer which was fab! Simple fare, absolutely fantastic fish and chips! Apple pie and ice-cream to follow. Not bad value either! Staff were lovely and happy! So were we!!

Most of the menu consisted primarily of pizza, burgers and deep fried food. We weren't exceptionally pleased and wouldn't return.

We chose this restaurant as it was 1 of 3 in the town. It’s a family ran business. Seemed like a locals hangout as kids were running everywhere and people lounged and ate where they desired. The pizza and garlic bread was tasty- they brought...them both out together and then didn’t check on us. We had to get napkins from a previously abandoned table. We had to find someone in order to pay. Tasty pizza but atmosphere and customer service lacking.More

When in Grundarfjordur, there's really not a lot to choose from, and this place looked OK from the outside, but was not exactly a warm welcome when we came in. We had to ask a couple times for napkins and cutlery, but I have to...say the burgers and chips were really pretty good, and not quite as outrageously expensive as in Reykjavik. So with eyes wide open, I'd say this was an OK place. The menu is very limited. Like burgers, pizza or burgers.More

My husband and I were tired and a bit cold after driving to and photographing Kirkjufell. We came upon this place and decided to give it a try. Good choice. He had the fish and chips and since I'm not a fried food fan, I...opted for the seafood soup, which was in a light curry broth. Very good. A good place to eat, catch up on communications from home via wifi and just relax for a while.More

Actually open during the day, so you can drop in before 5pm. Beer and wine prices reasonable (for Iceland!) and the menu was pretty good as well. The Mages had Fish'n'chips because that's difficult to find back in Munich. Nice and crispy, but neither of...us liked the sauces. Not a problem, we just swapped them for lashings of ketchup. Service friendly and the whole place has a very relaxed atmosphere. It's where the local youth hang out for a beer and a burger as well.More

we were kind of lost when seraching for kaffi 59 because the signboard was so huge written "Ruben" while Kaffi 59 was hidden behind the signboard on a small red rock.Did it merge or something because we were too hungry to ask if this is...kaffi 59 or Ruben. The side entrance with the rock beside it was close so we went by the front entrance so i suppost we are in the right kaffi??? From what i read from the past reviews, yes there is outdoor seat for kaffi 59 hence i decided to write my review here instead *although photos are limited for me to make a clearer view*. Food was good especially the stew.Staff was friendly and well last but not least, i must say the views are beautiful as it was facing the street.More
