Everything was just perfect. The weather, the calm sea, the wooden boat, the herds of orcas we saw. We took the boat from Olafsvik.

We only ate lunch here, and it was very good! Food servings are large. Wished we had gone back for Breakfast the next day, as our hotel supplied breakfast was not good.

Although the bar was half empty, we had to wait for 1 hr to get the food: one sandwich and one pizza. Nobody came to us to apologize or explain. Food was not bad, but nothing special

First you get put in an heavily insulated jumpsuit (as you'll be out on deck for the 2.5-3 hours of the trip). Then out you head in search of what the sea will show you. We had a great day -- saw several humpback whales...(very very close!), as well as orcas, and got remarkably close to two different sperm whales. On the return to the harbor, we also saw white beaked dolphins. Good naturalists and spotters (as well as a whale-spotting dog on the upper deck who was on 'duty' throughout the trip) did a lovely job of educating, spotting, and explaining. Nicely done!More

The boat is defiantly seaworthy as the seas can be interesting, the cold suits they provide are great an keep you dry and warm. And thed find whales and orcas.

Went out on a very cold and blustery day, the staff looked after us and provided cold weather suits which go over your clothing. While we did not spot any Orca's we did spot many White-Beaked dolphins which swam very close to the boat, lots...of time for photographs. Highly recommend!More

Excellent tour, all weather overalls and hot chocolate provided (Both were needed) - we were treated to a flurry of snow on the boat, left town in it's various shades of brown and arrived back to a white Grundarfjörður. A little dolphin action whilst far...out but nothing else - two groups of orcas rolled in maybe 10 minutes towards the end of the trip, crew were patient and happily added an additional 40 minutes or so. Laki Cafe has some tasty pizza and a cozy atmosphere perfect for before and after the trip - reasonable priced too (as far as Iceland goes anyways). They have a cool little corner to purchase some memorabilia as well. Note: Be sure to pack waterproof gloves + protection against the salt water for your camera, we had icy, wet weather.More

Excellent tour with excellent guides. The young lady that is half german/half French but lives in Ireland and works on the boat, was a great guide. Thank you. We saw about 12 orcas and one humpback whale. Flexible company as they let us buy tickets...last second on the boat. Very family friendly.More

There aren't a lot of options in Grundarfjorour. We found this place okay. They were able to provide Gluten Free food after some questioning, and the food and prices were fine. It was a bit noisy eating inside with kids running around - may be...better to take out (they have some good takeaway options). The deserts are very nice.More
