Had only been open a couple of days following covid. Food was fantastic. Very well priced and good portions. Very fresh. Apparently have a new chef. Extremely friendly, enthusiastic staff and service was A1. Little bit old fashioned surroundings.
The opening hours listed on TripAdvisor are incorrect and no hours are listed on the hotel website. This restaurant does not open Monday - Wednesday. Food is available in the bar but my other half has been standing at the empty counter waiting to order...for about ten minutes now and as we've just bought drinks and said we'd be right back for food, not looking good.More
We visited for the first time for Sunday dinner. We were shown to a nice lounge with couches where we were offered drinks while looking at the menu. There was a great selection on the regular and a sunday special menu. Two of us chose...the roast beef and one chose the burger. We were taken through to the dining room and our food was served promptly. The roast beef was delicious and accompanied by a selection of piping hot fresh veg and also a dish of broccoli and cauliflower in cheese sauce. It was topped of with a fluffy crispy yorkshire pudding. The gravy was generous and tasted amazing. Probably the best roast dinner I've had!
Our waitress was very polite and efficient.More
No hesitation in recommending the Cooperage. A party of eight of us had a main course and drinks, before attending a further booked function in Keith.
I had the Royal Highland 10 Oz sirloin steak with two big haggis slices, whisky sauce, tasty veggies &...hand cooked chips. To say it was mouthwateringly scrumptious is an understatement. Best steak I have had in a long long time, and a more than ample portion.
The waitresses were very friendly, polite and efficient, full marks to them. A big plus with me is when staff come and ask if everything is okay, and if we want anything else. They did that in a pleasant manner.
Well done and I hope to frequent again sooner rather than later.More
First, I gave a three of personal wiev.
Overall group grade is four.
We made the stop with a group of 37.
A coupel of mails and telephone calls gave us three alternative dicshes to chose from.
Our time was a bit tight and we...did not know how long the tasteing at Strahisla would take from the tavel time yo Aberdeen and the AirPort.
Serving was quite Quick.
As all the food was preordered.
All went right.
Fish & chips ordinary big portion.
Haggis Burger big portion but personally this is where I reduced points.
The meat in my had parts that tasted bad.
So I left pieces.
But overall serving was Quick and good.
As an tour guide you sometimes has to let the group happieness come first.
Leave your own prefference out.
Ordering your drinks was at the bar and paying in advance. Ok, but why not take the food payment at once.
We had to go back for that.
Small Tiny details but markable.
Overall the best stop we could have at the moment.
The place was super scottish/brithish.
Pub in the groundfloor, restaurant upstears. And hotel in the house.More
Dropped in past for a meal last as had been doing a early evening firewood delivery to Keith and decided to treat the wife and daughter rather than heading home and having to cook.
Had a quick look on the internet for recommendations and the...Cooperage was top of the list, a quick call to Sir James Alexander also confirmed the Cooperage would be the place to go.
Well they did not disappoint, can highly recommend , best meal we have had in ages!
Excellent food and friendly staff!
Will be making the Cooperage in Keith a regular stop for excellent food.More
