The restaurant just moved about 3 weeks ago to a location on the water, just a short distance, about 1 km away. We had by far the best meal in a long time. Fresh cod with just the right batter for fish and chips, carrot...and ginger soup and catch of the day - a cod platter. Delicious, friendly. Highly recommend!!More

Four of us were recommended this restaurant by my Friend, Mayor of St. Lunaire-Griquet, who joined us for this meal. The Calamari was perfectly cooked in a tasty seasoned batter. I had to try the Shrimp and Scallops, served with rice and salad. So good,...that I asked for a bun to soak-up the juice when I was done. Excellent meal, courteous and prompt service, coupled with a splendid view! This was our first visit, but it will not be our last!More

With Covid closing about 50 % of tourist things on the Great Northern Peninsula this year, we were pleasantly surprised to find The Daily Catch open. The food was fantastic! Hubby thought it was some of the best deep fried cod he’d ever had (...and he orders it most places we go ) , my glazed salmon was absolutely delicious but my fav was the crab fish cakes to start.if I had known how delicious they were I would never have shared them with hubby....next time he can get his own ! The atmosphere was lovely , very clean and the staff were very pleasant. Make sure to check it out if you are ever up that way !More

We ate here based on the 4.5 star rating. I realize that a number of variables constitute a rating but our experience was so far from 4.5 stars that I’m astounded at how people arrived at it. We had calamari for appetizer, the fisherman’s platter...for our entree and bread pudding for desert. The calamari was tasty but very salty. The fisherman’s platter had mussels that were too salty, salmon overcooked and crab overcooked. Parts of the bread pudding were cold. We asked for decaf coffee and was told it was instant? Far from 4.5 stars! This is not to say I wouldn’t go back but would be very careful of what I ordered. Most people seemed to have ordered the fish and chips and that might be a good option.More

6 of us spent 3 weeks traveling around Newfoundland and this was definitely one of the best meals we had. Everything was fresh, good menu variety, reasonably priced for the quality and quantity.

The Daily Catch Restaurant in St. Lunaire-Griquet is a delightful experience, from the varied menu to the friendly staff. Great service, an opportunity to find out out about life in the local area, wonderful food, and a nice gift shop reflecting local talents.

After being unable to get a table the night before we were pleased they would take a reservation a day ahead. We fortunately had our order in just ahead of the arrival of a bus that had reserved nearly the entire dining room. It is...not a large restaurant but apparently has a well deserved reputation for excellent cuisine . Started out with a Quidi Vidi Ale and Pinot Grigio both very good with the soup of the day and an order of mussels. There is nothing like fresh mussels, prepared well with a good ale. For our mains we had to try the local Halibut and pan fried Cod as many of the people we met recommended. Both were excellent. Followed yhe meal the homemade pie and a scoop of ice cream. Probably gained 5 pounds that night, but it was worth it.More

Great music on Wednesday’s. Good food every day. The staff are welcoming. The place is busy. A wonderful local dining experience. Don’t miss this place if you are in the area. Loved the shrimp and scallops dinner.

The season for lobster is over in September. Crab depends on the catch of the fishing people.
