Being a pretty good cook myself, restaurants typically have a tough time impressing me. The owner and staff did just that! Great food, perfectly prepared, with a warm and friendly vibe. What a great way to create a memory.

I arrived close to closing time, but the owner and his family welcomed me readily. I enjoyed the evening's special: Grilled cod on a bed of rice, with steamed broccoli. The views from the dining room are amazing. The next morning, I stopped here to...use the ATM, at the convenience store, which the family also owns. The gentleman graciously got cash for me from his till, as the machine hadn't been stocked as yet. I would definitely dine here again, on a future visit.More

Fantastic restaurant! We had a great dinner, from picking out our own lobster to sipping Iceberg Martinis! We arrived to be welcomed by the owner and his family , with special thanks to Kayla! We had Lobster as well as the Halibut. Appetizers of mussels,...calamari, and the Beet & Goat cheese salad! The location is perfect & so picturesque along the shoreline. A MUST go to in St.Lunaire-Griquet and St.Anthony’s.More

The food was so yummy and delicious that we actually ate there both nights that we were staying in St. Lunaire-Griquet. The chowder was superb and the fresh fish incredible, as were the salads and dessert. We had wonderful waitresses both times; so friendly and...entertaining. We just loved the whole experience and would really recommend it to others.More

Started with the calamari appetizer which was very good. Rings were massive and perfectly fried. All 4 at the table continued with one of the dinner fish entrees and everyone agreed the fish was great. Served with a nice side salad and delicious dressing as...well. Nice to have something fresh when traveling. Desserts were also good - berry crumble with ice cream and a special custard parfait. Def call ahead for reservations because they reserve the actual tables for you and the best ones were kept for reservations. Service was slow and a bit uneven but view and ambience were a great distraction. Would def recommend.More

A lovely stop after a cold and blustery morning at L'anse aux Meadows. The roasted red pepper soup was fantastic. Fish and chips delicious. Good service. Highly recommended.

Everything was perfect, from the atmosphere to the service, and then the food… oh my!! Everyone paused and just savoured their dish. We enjoyed scallops and shrimp (perfectly flavoured and cooked); pan fried cod (delicious); cod au gratin (out of this world). We all had...to order dessert, knowing the main was so good; we had to try dessert. It didn’t disappoint… so delicious!More

What a great restaurant! The food was delicious (fresh cod, patridgeberry pie), the service friendly and efficient and the view on the bay very pretty. They also sell bread and buns - the bun served with the soup was so good. Well worth the 20...minute drive from St. Anthony’s.More

The restaurant just moved about 3 weeks ago to a location on the water, just a short distance, about 1 km away. We had by far the best meal in a long time. Fresh cod with just the right batter for fish and chips, carrot...and ginger soup and catch of the day - a cod platter. Delicious, friendly. Highly recommend!!More

Four of us were recommended this restaurant by my Friend, Mayor of St. Lunaire-Griquet, who joined us for this meal. The Calamari was perfectly cooked in a tasty seasoned batter. I had to try the Shrimp and Scallops, served with rice and salad. So good,...that I asked for a bun to soak-up the juice when I was done. Excellent meal, courteous and prompt service, coupled with a splendid view! This was our first visit, but it will not be our last!More

With Covid closing about 50 % of tourist things on the Great Northern Peninsula this year, we were pleasantly surprised to find The Daily Catch open. The food was fantastic! Hubby thought it was some of the best deep fried cod he’d ever had (...and he orders it most places we go ) , my glazed salmon was absolutely delicious but my fav was the crab fish cakes to start.if I had known how delicious they were I would never have shared them with hubby....next time he can get his own ! The atmosphere was lovely , very clean and the staff were very pleasant. Make sure to check it out if you are ever up that way !More

We ate here based on the 4.5 star rating. I realize that a number of variables constitute a rating but our experience was so far from 4.5 stars that I’m astounded at how people arrived at it. We had calamari for appetizer, the fisherman’s platter...for our entree and bread pudding for desert. The calamari was tasty but very salty. The fisherman’s platter had mussels that were too salty, salmon overcooked and crab overcooked. Parts of the bread pudding were cold. We asked for decaf coffee and was told it was instant? Far from 4.5 stars! This is not to say I wouldn’t go back but would be very careful of what I ordered. Most people seemed to have ordered the fish and chips and that might be a good option.More

The season for lobster is over in September. Crab depends on the catch of the fishing people.
