This is a small group of some restaurants, among other th Guindilla also in Benicassim which the Mercado but the casual one. El Mercado proposes typical Spanish food most of local origin. They have a very good chef. The wine list is pretty large and...enables you to find the find the right wine art the price which better suits to you. I would recommend to select the me nu at 35 euros / person. Large portion, very well presented. For the wine follow the recommendation of the staff and make your choice depending on the budget. I select an excellent Rosé from Spain (12 euros if I remember well) and a Spanish red wine at 30 euros, which is really top. When you visit the restaurant and are 4 people, you should calculate a budget of approx. 200 euros / 4 people when you would have no limit. Can be decreased to 180 euros if you would take car of the price of the wine. When we are in Benicassim, we always visit this restaurant 2 times over a period of time of 1 month. Having visited last year when we questioned one or two points we were absolutely delighted with the quality (again) and all other aspects of service, price and ambience. A variety of main courses were cooked to perfection and the variety of desserts and their taste...equisate. A two chocolate (dark and white) layer dessert was topped with foamed espresso coffee. None of us thought that such a light fan could produce such and intenser coffee flavour. Violet ice cream and goats cheese cake were delightful. We can now fully support this as a top restaurant.More

We've wanted to eat here for a long time because of the reviews. The food quality was excellent but limited choice and small servings. Turbot was beautifully cooked but rather overpowered by the Thai fish sauce and stir fry vegetables which we're mostly onion. Lamb...Provencal was very nice. Others had mixed views on their choices. On reflection the Tapas menu looks inviting if at least four people who are shell fish tolerant can enjoy.More

Visited here two years ago and went back after the festival was over again this year, the food is fresh and authentic. If anything they should have a drinks menu - considering gin is in the title and I could see all the bottles behind...the bar, the only option was "dry" or "sweet". It seems you get what you're given here; fine for me as a gin lover (dry, of course) but some people would surely like the options. Cheese board as a starter (we loved it but I don't recommend if you're not a fan of Spanish cheeses, they tend to be harder and stronger), two mains, two gins and two espresso was about €85 - good value for money in my opinion.More

We came across the restaurant on a recommendation from a friend and were very pleased that we did. We arrived at 8:30 so were very early by a local standards and decided to go for the 35 euro seven course tapas menu. Each course was...very good, with a good mixture of meat and seafood, but our favourite was definitely the fried egg, Iberian ham and artichoke. All of the wait staff were extremely helpful and patient with our poor Spanish, with the wine recommendation to match our food just perfect. We sat outside which was great for people watching as the locals came out in force from 10pm onwards, enjoying the experience with a glass of champagne and a delicious trio of deserts. Highly recommended and will try to go back again whilst we are in town for the food and to try some gin. Thank you for a great experience.More
