It's a twenty minute drive over too many topes from our house to bustling Joco, but I'll be making the trip more often now that I've finally found Frida's. This tiny jewel box of a soup-salad-sandwich-Kahlo joint would fit right into any funky urban neighborhood. The menu is recognizable to any ex-pat or visitor from North of the Border, enhanced... I live in an adjacent pueblo. We are so fortunate to have this restaurant near us. I have been there for breakfast and any tines for lunch. German's food is always good quality, consistent and healthy. Try it, you won't be disappointed!!!

Before leaving our base town of Ajijic, we investigated the Joco restaurant scene and El Rincon de Frida (Frida's Corner) was rated #1. It was a little jewel with its walls festooned with images of the famous (infamous?) Kahlo (among other things she was bisexual and a communist) along with photos of her childhood and a myriad of artistic paraphernalia... More

Tasty generously-sized sandwiches, salads, and more. Yummy lemonade and really good lattes. English-speaking server. Recommend for a healthy meal!

There is a reason this tiny "boite" is rated no. 1 in Jocotopec. It's a wonderful find for foodies!! Think "artisan". For five years owner German and his cousins have been preparing and serving the freshest ingredients with great care. Delicious combinations, Nice presentations. I chose to go early in the morning and was surprised by the warm welcome, the... More

Have loved in the past Chef German's salads, soups and sandwiches. Today I discovered the Italian sodas and the fact that he has added bagels and croissants to the menu. With a choice of sweet or savory fillings, ones of these is perfect when you aren't quite hungry enough for a larger meal. And I loved the coconut flavored Italian... More

Went to this little restaurant many times during our 6 week stay in the area. Salads were wonderful. One day I wanted soup but they ran out. Owner promised to make and hold a big container of it for me. The next day DH went n sure enough it was ready and waiting for me.

Small place with a lot of pictures of Frida Calo, great food and service, really nice place to stop by and enjoy the sandwishes and salads if your visiting the town of Jocotepec. The Ribera of Chapala.

I have tried some of their sandwiches, salads and soups and they were all delicious and very freshly prepared. The portions are very generous as well. Service was excellent and I liked the little fresh strawberries they put in their water. Just a nice little detail. I would love to see them open another location in Ajijic. Prices are very... More
