Asking for fish and chips, not the size of cod for making it….. ok… had to choose for pan fried or with cheese…. No cod anymore???? I have finally a chicken burger rate a 1/10… finally not a place to go again. Poor service

Amazing food and service..causal atmosphere..highly recommended.. Try the Cod or Pork chops..both are amazing with sweet potato fries.
Placed an order for takeout for five adults. Couldn’t place order for pick up before 730 because eat-in was “busy”. Placed order…all good. At pick up one less fish and chips than ordered because the kitchen read the order wrong. Couldn’t get second order because...they ran out of fish…..and chips (believe it or not). They had wedge fries tho. Whoop dee doo! Cod au gratin was fish soup with cheese on top. Please don’t order. Club sandwich was o.k. but would have been better if we didn’t have to wait for the wedge fries to cook. Wraps were also o.k. And by the way, the order of 2 pieces of fish and chips we did get would not equal a single order in any other place. It’s the start of tourism season for God’s sake. Don’t run out of fish. Who can’t get a potato to peel…..come on.More
Recommended by someone on the Fogo Island ferry and we were very grateful they sent us there. Very friendly staff, amazingly good fish (all 6 of us were very impressed), reasonable prices. Can't say enough good about this place.
The food and service was great. I had a burger and fries and it was the best. The burger was juicy and very tasty and the fries were crispy to perfection! The absolute best!
5 of us ate here a few days ago. Everyone enjoyed their meals. The food was tasty and hot. Service was very good and the prices were reasonable. I tried cod tongue for the first time... A little chewy an interesting texture. Someone else had...the panfried cod and enjoyed it.More
Restaurant separated from bar by some curtains . I was kinda of worried at first but the service was excellent . I had pan fried cod and mashed potatoes. Meal was very good but serving was small. I ordered a second meal for my lunch...the next day and it seemed to be a bigger portion .More
One of only two or three restaurants on Fogo this restaurant shares itself with a nightclub it is located on the main street in Fogo and it's menu is pretty typical for this type of restaurant. The soup was very tasty and the service was...fast. Had a club house sandwich as well and it was good. The place could use a little face lift but other than that you can get a decent meal thereMore
We went there, food was good but a long time getting served due to one cook and waitress on at the time and a lot of customers. The waitress was polite and tried her best but it was to busy to really give the service...needed. The menu had a lot of variety but prices were a little steep. They closed down early at 8 pm on Friday night, which I thought visitors would be looking for somewhere to have dinner. He was shred with a bar inside so I guess they couldn’t have customers in the restaurant and do good service with loud music.More
not many places to choose from when it comes to eating out on Fogo Island. but the beaches bar & grill had good food & friendly service. the fish & chips was very tasty & the beer was cold! the best part ...it was in...walking distance to our rental cottage. they were even nice enough to sell us some us.More
This is a reliable stop to eat. Fries are not the greatest but all other food was good and waitress was friendly. It is old school diner. Not a lot of eat out choices on Fogo.
Very difficult to find restaurant food on Fogo. The places in Fogo are so upscale that they ignore reservation calls, and are seldom open. Beaches in the town of Fogo is central and was always busy but open reliably until 7:30. Not fine dining with...just 2 staff working, but good homely cooking: cod, salmon, hot roast beef, etc and cold beer!More
Frozen fries, greasy fish, and a seafood platter that didn’t feature any local seafood. Would recommend you skip this place and find elsewhere. Fogo Island is amazing and rightly experiencing a tourism boom, but this place deserves to be left behind.
We ate here a few times during our stay. The food is pretty good. I can vouch for the fish ‘n chips, the turkey dinner (a little on the dry side, but not a big deal) and the hot turkey sandwich. It’s not easy, in...a place as remote as Fogo, with a customer base of tourists that fluctuates in number every day, to cover all the bases all the time, so occasionally the restaurant will be out of this or that, but that’s to be expected. This place does a good job of feeding the family at a fair price. I recommend it. It’s in the community of Fogo, on Fogo Island.More
Some superb fish and chips here (fresh cod and fresh made chips); a homey atmosphere and friendly, efficient staff. A bonus is the live music events held here with a local band every Wednesday night
