little scary when we walked in. Old decor but everyone was very friendly. We were seated and served very quickly. The beer was ice cold and the meal was great. Ribs, sauerkraut, fries and coleslaw. Very large portions.

This is an average small town hotel...nothing fancy at all. The food is amazing...pigtails, schnitzel, pork hocks....the standard german cooking just like gramma made.

Tasty traditional German choices- smoked pork hock, sausages, schnitzel. They also had some alternatives like fried shrimp, broasted chicken, etc. Good prices, friendly. We visited on a Friday and there was an older gentleman playing piano for diners. We will be back.

Pig tails, smoke pork hocks got us there. Where else you can find those specialities on a menu. A small town tavern; German, Dutch and all patrons to feel at home with their traditional schnitzels, sausages and certainly beer. Consider this restaurant as an interesting spot to explore on a very casual, run down set up. How about Honky Tonk... More

My partner wanted to try the Pork Hock, so we drove through a snow storm to find The Olde Heidelberg restaurant. Immediately we were seated and after scanning the menu, my partner ordered the Pork Hock with mashed potatoes. I ordered the Chicken Crunch. The decor of the restaurant was OK. The table we were seated at was wobbly and... More

this is a very old tavern with very old dated decor and furniture. Ordered a cheese burger with supposedly the works. Was stunned to see it was so small. Looks like a burger from a child's menu. Not worth purchasing.

I really wanted to try the Smoked ham hock as I had heard it was one of there siganture dishes. The... More

Visited recently during early afternoon on a sunny Saturday with friends/family. All of the other comments ring true. It's a simple no frills eatery with good honest food and complimentary service. Our party was 5 and we shared two ham hocks with a beef sandwich, some sides and a couple of draft beers. The hocks/sides were delicious and the highlight... More

We visited St. Jacob Farmers Market. We have heard about this restaurant about serving very good pork hock and so decided to go there for lunch. It was a place with an old hotel on top of the restaurant. It reminded me of one of the setting from the old western movie... It happened to be a long weekend and... More
