Visited Grandma Pollards last week and the food was delicious. We were greeted by the owner and what a lovely man he is. Nothing was too much trouble. The place itself was spotless and the staff were polite and courteous. We did share a vanilla slice after our meal which was delicious. Thank you Grandma Pollards for a wonderful luncheon... More

I came here now and again as a treat from Great Harwood, Lancashire when im about and about in Yorkshire. I stopped here with my grand parents for dinner. I ordered a Sausage chips & Gravy with a cup of tea for about £6.00. The food is amazing. I would also recommend any pie. All food is made freshly made... More

Popped here for lunch with our children and the staff here are great. Tony is a legend and certainly knows how to treat his customers. Lovely lunch in a great environment. Always worth a visit.

Great return visit- massive portions, free scallop, friendly and attentive staff, tasty food and all fresh. Now with gluten free options [cooked separately]. We try to call in if we are passing and around lunch- sometimes we have our meal by the canal, not in December though. Tony is a gem- life and soul of the Chippy!!

Tried a few pies now from these people and quite honestly I cannot believe anyone would think their pies are tasty.Tried a Meat and Potato this week.At £2.60 / 65 the pie just tasted of pastry and potato with little or no seasoning at all and in my opinion is way overpriced.Three times now - that's enough for me.Will not... Me and family members went to Grandma Pollards on a Tuesday lunchtime. We went to the shop to give our order and went and sat on the bus to eat it. We each had a small fish, chips and mushy peas, with bread and butter and endless tea. It was brought by cheerful waitresses who kept filling our tea cups.... More

A decent chippy... heard it had won "chippy of the year" a few years back so popped in. Not overwhelmed. Busy, so fish was cooked fresh which was good but straight onto paper and into carry bag thus meaning no time to drain oil or crisp up under lights in warmer. When home and unwrapped batter all stuck to paper... More

It's a shame this place feels like it is losing its way. The fish was excellent but judging by the chips there must be another potato famine. A few oversized chips doesn't amount to a portion. I'm hoping it finds its old form as it used to be fantastic.

This is not an ordinary chip shop. There is a lovely resturant or an old bus to dine in. In summer eat outside or by the canal.Childrens menu and wide range of meat pies and puddings available. The vanilla slices are great as wellaethe fruit pies All home made. All avilable with tea/coffee, bread and butter. Just go in the chp shop, order and the meal is brought to you at your table. The service is excellent. It is an experience to dine in the bus usually accompanied by 60s/70s music in the backgrund. The bus can be hired for private parties. The shop is open Mon. and Tues till 3.30pm and Wed.Thurs.and Fri. till 8pm. Not open Sat and Sun. It really is an experience (very good one), and well worth a visit. The place is spotless. We have been going many years now and there .are many regulars. I would recommend the chippy for a very enjoyable experience.
