We were on a girl's golf weekend and found this gem for dinner. Small but mighty....immaculate with a great selection on the menu and the best meal we had all weekend. Great attentive service.

Cosy place, great food, service, decor and ambiance. The menu includes a variety of soups, salads, pasta, grills and pizza. The restaurant also has a good selection of wine.

This restaurant is a gem! We love to stop here and enjoy the atmosphere and the great food. Service is always friendly and it's a joy to visit. Sitting outside on a nice day or evening makes for a lovely dinner. The wine selection is...great too! Thanks for the experience and we will be back.More

The Chef is visible from the dining area, working away beside a wood fire oven. The menu is versatile. Sad to see only one type of schnitzel on the menu... and I was truly hoping for a hunter sauce option... that being said I had...the spaetzle with cheese and it was incredible, also the shrimp appie (although a bit small) was divine and the pork tenderloin in puff pastry and a balsamic wine reduction was very nicely done. Please don't miss out on the raspberry sorbet - it is served with creme fresh and I cannot say enough about the perfection of this dessert. The waitress did seem slightly pretentious but she did a fabulous job of looking after us... except when we asked for more butter .. that is forgivable though. I very much look forward to visiting again and again. If you are in the area don't miss this spot - very close to the ferry.More

My husband and I spend a lovely evening with our son, daughter-in-law and two young grandchildren, 3 and 5 at Boccalinos. The children both had Pizza which they loved, my daughter-in-law was able to order a gluten free pizza and the rest of us ordered...the schnitzel with spatzle. We had a delightful meal. We were seated in a covered patio area which was very pleasantMore

***** My wife Sue and I met Gisela and Yves, the proprietress and chef of Boccalino’s Restaurant and Motel, on Crawford Bay in the BC Kootenays’s, during our trip to the Bahamas last year. We traveled from our home in Canmore to visit with them...for a week this May. My wife Sue caught up on her reading and enjoyed the natural surroundings, while I spent time with Yves in his kitchen, learning as much as I could and observing what it’s like to prepare fine dining for seventy plus guests each day. Yves Rossi is a chef with great experience who trusts his instincts and uses all of his skills to bring together and hi-light the abundant local flavours. After seventeen years, Gisela is a pillar of her community where the locals support each other; she greets all of her local guests with hugs. These two have worked together for much of that time, contributing their Swiss heritage and sense of family; Gisela’s parents, her father is a baker and farmer, first came to the Kootenay’s in the mid-nineties. Boccalino’s is very close to the Ferry Terminal at Crawford Bay and should not be missed, for a gourmet meal prepared with local ingredients and perhaps an overnight stay to enjoy one of Canada’s most idyllic surroundings; don’t forget to visit the local artisans in the nearby community of Crawford Bay!More

We stayed in Ainsworth and took the ferry to Kootenay Bay for dinner. This was a fantastic experience. We both had excellent pasta dishes. We were surprised that they had live entertainment which was great as well. Ask to sit on the outdoor patio (beautiful)...if weather permits. Inside also looks like it would be great. Do try this dinning experience. Also serves pizza if you are not that hungry.More

There are not a lot of restaurants in the area but this one was recommended to us. The space itself is reminiscent of a high-school gymnasium and not very appealing. The food was average. I ordered a tomato and bocconcini salad - at this time...of year the tomatoes should have just sparkled with flavor but unfortunately they tasted very bland and the bocconcini was obviously straight out of the package. I ordered a spatzle dish for my main course which was ok. Service was prompt and friendly and the wine list was quite good.More

In a nutshell - my wiener schnitzel was burnt and as I was a guest with several people I did not know well, I kept quiet and said nothing. Disappointing.

It's unfortunate that you wouldn't let me address your concerns at the time. Instead you chose to quietly finish your plate of pork schnitzel and then complain about it in public. That's what's disappointing to me.
