Amazing view and staff!

This place is amazing!! We arrived early (around 5:30 pm) knowing that due to COVID, it would be packed pretty quickly. It's also one of the few places that opens after 6pm in the area. We were seated on the patio where we had a lovely view of the water, the sunset and the marina. We started off with drinks. The strawberry mojito is a MUST, it was absolutely delicious and not too sweet. They also brew their own beer which was very good. We shared a rib platter with the fried calamari entree. Both plates were very good, well seasoned. The food arrived pretty quickly as well. The desserts were to die for, we had the carrot cake and the triple chocolate cake. Our waitress, Jackie, was extremely helpful and friendly!!! I ordered a second strawberry mojito, and she brought an extra one because she believed the first one wasn't strong enough (even though we didn't say anything)!!! The service was absolutely impeccable. The prices are VERY reasonable for everything we ate and drank and the portions are generous. The bathrooms were clean! I strongly recommend this place if you're in the area!!!

Anniversary Dinner

We had our anniversary dinner here in September, we started with french onion soup which was very tasty, I had the rib eye steak and my wife had the tuna bowl, we were both extremely satisfied with our choices. Service was very good. The beer sampler was great. We had the dessert of the day and it did not disappoint, I believe it was an apple crumble. Prices are on the high side but the quality merited the cost.

Great food & beer, even better service!

My husband and I visited the Tobermory Brewing Company for dinner while visiting tobermory on our minimoon and we were both extremely impressed. As craft beer lovers we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to visit this spot and were not disappointed. We had read reviews ahead so we were prepared for a bit of a wait for a table. We waited maybe 20 minutes in line, and then another 25 or 30 minutes on the patio with a beer for a warm spot to open up inside for food (it was quite chilly out). Both of our beers were great, my husband was especially pleased with the Porter. Once a table opened up inside we were seated and our server, Mason, quickly took our orders. Our appetizer, the rib bites, came very quickly and we were both surprised by the size. It could easily have been on the entree menu instead of the starters. We followed with the prime rib burger and a poutine. Both were delicious! When our bill came we realized we had not been charged for our second round of beers, we let Mason know, and he ended up comping one of the beers for our honesty! That was totally unexpected and unnecessary, but the gesture was very much appreciated by both of us. We would recommend anyone who enjoys craft beer & upscale pub food, but doesn’t mind a bit of a wait, to check out this spot!!

Alright beer, terrible food - Tourist Trap - Avoid

Visited with as a group of five friends. We were looking forward to his place as it was in a nice location and had a long line, so assumed it must be a good place to stop for dinner. We were mistaken. Upon being seated, we had to ask the server to clean the table as there were still bits from the previous guest's meal on the table. The Beer: All right, beer is beer, some were better than others. We all had the flight to sample the beer. It would have been good to have tasting notes or a guide as to which beer we were drinking as opposed to just guessing what we were drinking. The Food: Terrible. Two members order the steak, which was overcooked and two of us ordered the fish and chips. I have never been so disappointed in my life when it arrived at the table. Being a town on the water, we had assumed that it would be fresh fish or at leaser beer-battered, considering we were at a brewery. It was clear that these were frozen fish fillets that looked like they were picked up at the Foodland down the street. (picture attached). Perhaps they were out of normal fish and tossed these in the fryer as a substitution? However, we would've appreciated being told if there was no fish on the menu tonight and we would've ordered something different. There are many other places to eat in Tobermory that have a great view and better food.

Service good, food poor

Our server was delightful but some of the food unfortunately was not. The fish and chips were not what one would expect from a place like Tobermory. Not beer battered but a mushy , obviously from the freezer prebattered fish stick .All three orders contained the same fish stick clones. The fries ranged from mildly warm to cold . I did order the special home cut fries and found them to be cold and undercooked. Our waitress was great and replaced them with a new order. Two of our party ordered the hamburger and wings and were satisfied with their choices. The beer was good and I bought some to take home. Perhaps I should have asked a few more questions about the fish and chips but for 18 dollars I did not expect to be served deep fried frozen fish sticks . I would recommend it be taken off the menu or given a complete overhaul because that dish has prompted me to write my first ever restaurant review and was responsible for a very poor dining experience for 3 of our party of 5.

Surprisingly Excellent food

We went to experience the beer and had an appetizer (Korean ribs) while enjoying the drinks on the patio. The food menu is quite varied and they have daily specials as well. Wait staff were exceptional attentive even though it was very busy (we waited in line and the line was still there when we left -- worth waiting for a table) The retail store is closed but you can order beer to go through the was it staff.

Not what I expected

Very poor service, food was not good - very overdone and almost uneatable calamari. Beer - as far as craft beer goes - average at best. Having visited many craft breweries in the past I was very disappointed with this brewery.

Frozen food, slow service, poor management!

Went here for fish and chips and the service was very slow. Went to ask server for drink refills and all of the staff were standing around laughing and playing on their phones. Our table ordered the fish and chips and there was barely any fish to be seen. It was two pieces of frozen, deep fried, squares of batter. We had guests at our cottage a few days later and decided to give the brewery one more try before ruling it out. When we went to the door to ask for a table at 5:30pm, the manager came out and said he had no tables open but even once he does, he won’t seat us because he would like the space to prepare for dinner? It was already 5:30pm. We told him we just wanted a pitcher of beer and he said no that he still would prefer to have the space. As a result, we took our table of six to the Princess Hotel up the street and gave them our easy $200. The service and food were awesome!

Any staff we talked with was polite, but not great service from anybody. we arrived to a table that smelled of musky odour from what a disgusting cloth being used to clean the tables. our server was polite but never offered any refills of drinks and was hard enough to even get their attention for another. also forgot to bring along a salad with one of our meals. i had the fish and chips, and am being quite honest when i say i believe it was from a frozen box from the grocery store. (not impressed being in tobermory). the burger was also very plain and tasted as it also came from the frozen section of the grocery store. Another item that bothered us, was that the restaurant didn't have their fresh cut fries available, or their beer flights. two of the things that caught our attention for this restaurant. The playlist for the night was all mumble rap and tik tok songs. Overall, it wasn't a horrible place. but considering the prices of everything, i would expect a lot more in all areas. there are many other restaurants in walking distance that have better service and food.

Very bad dinner

Stayed at the motel next door and went to pick up dinners , for 3 people to be exact . Never been more disappointed and never had a worse meal since I can remember . Normally as you can see I don’t leave negative reviews but this time I do feel strongly about it . We had fish and chips and a burger . Fish chips was nothing like any fish and chips you could imagine , absolutely bad period Burger was so burned you couldn’t even try to taste the burger We ended up going to pizza machine to have a bite . Never again to this restaurant !!!

Worst service and food

We waited 20 mins for our table as only patio dining was allowed. When two tables left at the same time, it took the waitress 10 mins to get the table ready. We ordered the home cut fries and hamburger. The burger was burnt on the outside and uncooked in the middle. Our waitress never came to check on us. We had to ask for ketchup when the food was delivered. The beer was okay but looked like it was brewed elsewhere!! We would not come back nor recommend this place to anyone.

Even the manager finds excuses for poor service.

Very Poor Service. On the Monday evening (slow), it took almost 1:30 hr to NOT get appetizers (nachos) and finally had to cancel. To make it worse, even the manager gave us a questionable excuse. Their chef was injured, they said. But what explain loooong time taken to get us two samples of beers? They another loooong time to get actual beers. And the appetizers never came after 1:30 Hr. People around us (with different servers) were getting their their stuff much more promptly!!! Fine, your server is not the best but why did the manager (semi-)misrepresent the reason?

Touristy but worth a visit

My son in law thought the range of beers was very good, I had diet coke. Lunch pricing was mid range with a reasonable range of burger type meals on offer. My burger was a little overcooked but the other three in our party said that what they had ordered was okay. Daughter was able to find something that suited her vegan/vegetarian wishes.

unexpectedly good food

It is located at the centre of the tourist area. Food quality and presentation are of upscale restaurants. Its menu includes seafood, Italian, steaks… We tried the salmon and burger, both were very good. Selection of beers includes at least 6 different types, from light to dark. Wines are also served. Quite a number of people come here for a drink between lunch and dinner, so there is a long line up all the time at busy season. Sitting is at the outside mainly with small round tables under umbrellas. Because this area is not big, tables are slightly close to each other. Depending on the time of the day, some sitting may be under direct sunlight. Price is reasonable at this tourist area.

Average food, and not great service

At here with a group- could not sit together but was told we would be charged a group which we envantually resolved with a more senior member of staff. The service was very chaotic, orders were lost and the staff in the open kitchen did not seem very well organised or concerned about waiting customers. Some staff were trying but overall the poor organisation and what appeared management effected the quality and experience.
