As we walked along the main road from our hotel we were at a bit of a loss over which place to try first. What attracted us to this joint was its unusual decor and the fact that it's one of the few places that doesn't have an annoying man standing outside trying to accost you through the door. That... Really enjoyed our visits here. The sea bass was fantastic as was the various Cretan dishes we tried. Very generous hosts with complimentary raki and honey nut bar. Would visit again.

We found this place on TripAdvisor and followed others' recommendations. This was one of two excellent restaurants still open in October although, as the smaller one, was closing down 2 weeks later and running down on foods and wine. Excellent local dishes not found elsewhere on our trip - lamb with artichokes, a lovely stifado, smoked baked pork. Lovely staff.

Crete House is a nice place surrounded by green plans and offers nice food, though certainly not outstanding. An elaborate Cretan menu, with food that is well made but probably half-prepared before. Still worth a try if you are staying around the area long.

Great tavern for everyone wishing to try Cretan food - I'd say it's one of the best places to do it. Not only the food tastes great, but also the staff is very polite and friendly. Not only do the staff try to please you, but also they try to answer your every question about Crete, as long as they... More

This restaurant might not have lots of crowds, but we were pleased with their warm bread with beetroot spread. I ordered the tomato veal stew, which made it the third time I had tried in Greece and this was the best one. Flavourble rice with lemon juice touch and tender veal with perfect tomato sauce. I really love this dish!... More

Food was excellent and served in a pleasantly rustic terrace. We were entertained by the pet rabbit 'Cassanova' who must have escaped the pot! Great 'free' snacks before the meal & good service. Peter is an eccentric character who adds colour to the place.

The tavern is not just a common touristic spot. It seems to be a family run place and has a very special atmosphere and ambience. The food is traditional and tasty. Kids will be happy to see rabbits and parrots in the restaurant.

The decoration is very traditional, it creates a warm atmosphere, the food delicious and the portions were big. We liked it very much.
