The Kitimat Dairy Queen serves up what you’d expect of this franchise: cool treats, burgers, fries, chicken strips, and a few other “hot eat” items. In short, this location is your typical DQ – no surprises. That said, I ventured to this unit following a...decent repast at MOM’s Cuisine in the City Centre Mall. It made sense to me: After dining on some chicken and chips, why not cool the palate with a delicious cool treat? When I entered the establishment I couldn’t help but notice how empty it was. During my visit, there was literally just one other person inside, less staff. It was almost eerie to see a DQ so empty. On the plus side, I suppose the lack of traffic ensured that the premises were clean and well-maintained. Staff were also efficient in taking my order (a peanut buster parfait). And how was my cool treat? Well, it was vintage Dairy Queen; that is to say, it was very good and hit the spot. I appreciate that the staff here seem to know how to execute the menu properly. My peanut buster parfait looked (and tasted) exactly as I’d expect: Mounds of creamy smooth DQ soft serve, a nice ratio of peanuts and velvety hot fudge layered high in an attractive way and manner. Fantastic! FOOD: 4/5 SERVICE: 4/5 VALUE: 5/5 RECOMMENDATION: A staple in Canada since 1953, Dairy Queen has delighted the young and old with its delectable treats for well over 60 years in this country. And, really, it’s no surprise they’ve lasted as long as they have. When you have a product that’s been tested and subsequently beloved by so many, the demand will always be there. The Kitimat location maintains many of the franchise’s principles high and this is reflected in the quality of the treats. Indeed, they treat you right. Highly recommended! The DQ here is consistent with most other DQ's for food. When we were there the staff was quite friendly and the restaurant was clean (we ate in the restaurant).

Picked up a large fries and a medium cone last night. Paid $8.05 for it. Enough said. To much. Fries were over cooked but the ice cream cone was excellent. Improvements needed here

We have gone to Dairy Queen 3 times in the past month and it has been good. A lot better than before. The store has been redone and the attitude of the staff has improved with the new owners.

The prices are well above other DQ's I have been in and the chicken wraps are very small. I don't know if the price has gone up with minimum wage, but I can go to a nice restaurant and pay the same as feeding my...family at DQ.More
