Super fast, fresh dishes! Amazing soups! Willing to customize orders (no onions, or no celery, etc). Very large portions! Great service. Does delivery.

Fortune Kitchen is compact – very compact. Besides a small cashier/order pick-up window, the space hosts 4 small tables; thus, it strikes me as a business that focuses much more on takeout orders rather than dine in because, well, there just isn’t the real estate...in this establishment for much of a dine-in business. On the bright side, at least Fortune Kitchen doesn’t look derelict from the outside, unlike the competition just down the street. As I was conducting my culinary tour of the Kitimat area, I made sure to visit Fortune Kitchen just one day after dining at Chop Suey Kitchen. I did this so as to keep the flavours of the latter fresh in my mind to form a proper basis of comparison and perspective. Once seated, I looked through the menu and ordered an eggroll, beef w/ broccoli and pan-fried Szechuan prawns. Much like at Chop Suey Kitchen, my food came in good time – hot and fresh; but again, this isn’t surprising given that I was the only diner in the establishment. My eggroll was similar to that of Chop Suey Kitchen in that it had a crunchy exterior, but was otherwise mostly tasteless and a bit on the greasy side. My beef w/ broccoli was good – the greens were fresh, had a light crunch to them and the beef was tender; however, I’m almost tempted to be cheeky and say this menu item should probably be renamed “broccoli with beef” because the broccoli outnumbered the beef in a ratio of 2:1 (see attached photo). The flavours were all there, however. Finally, my Szechuan prawns were easily the star of the night. The dish came as an ample portion; there were plenty of well-cooked prawns; and the variety of peppers and other vegetables added some nice colour to the dish. I also appreciated that the Szechuan sauce wasn’t overly thick. Overall, I felt that the food quality was basically the same as Chop Suey Kitchen; that is to say, the food was quite nice for Westernized Chinese cuisine. Where Fortune Kitchen differed from Chop Suey Kitchen, in my view, was in customer service. From the moment I entered Fortune Kitchen, I was greeted with a friendly smile and the lone server checked on me a couple of times throughout my meal to ensure everything was to my liking. This was in stark contrast to Chop Suey Kitchen where I was basically ignored the entire time. FOOD: 3/5 SERVICE: 3.5/5 VALUE: 3/5 RECOMMENDATION: The food and service at Fortune Kitchen were both very good. What this restaurant lacks in atmosphere (with its various shades of beige and brown inside), it more than makes up for in general customer service and food quality. That said, Fortune Kitchen – because of its small size – is more geared towards takeout than dine in whereas the competition just down the street is the opposite. Regardless, I will say that the Chinese food options in Kitimat are far superior to those offered in Terrace. Thus, if I want decent Chinese cuisine, I’ll gladly drive the 40 or so minutes to get it in Kitimat. PS: If you found this review helpful in any way please consider hitting the "helpful" button!More
By far the best oriental fast food in Kitimat and they don't skimp on portions either. The building looks small but the flavour is top.
We had take out from here a couple of nights ago. The food and service are average. Nothing special. Not bad at all but not really good
My husband and I order food almost every night and with a limited selection in Kitimat it gets tough. When we order Chinese food , this is the place. Portions are huge and the food is good. We the huge influx of people here delivery...has gotten a little slow , but well worth the wait.More
The good: Pork fried rice was AWESOME! Chicken chow main was used with Cantonese noodles and was good. The bad: Phone service and the boneless honey garlic pork and Sweet and sour The Average: Won ton soup was nothing special, as well as the ginger...pork. I would probably skip this place and go back to the north star tsunami restaurant in Kitimat. This place left a person wanting and searching for something else. There is another Chinese place in town to try. Will go there.More
This place is located in what is referred to as Service Centre and is in amongst the warehouses and car dealership and a parts store. They have delivery, of course..I like going down on a soaking wet, nasty night, and eating at one of the...three tables. The food is your typical Chinese type stuff, but well prepared and nice staff of kids or the owner.More
