My family stopped in for a quick supper. We had the Steak & Cheese Sub, the Ham Sub, the Roasted Chicken Sub and a Chicken Bacon Ranch Salad. The Subs were made as combos and came with drinks and chips. Since I have to eat...gluten free, I had the Chicken Bacon Ranch Salad and it was very good. Great place to get good food fast.More
What can I say? I'm a glutton for punishment! Those who know me are aware of the fact that I've never really been that impressed by Subway. I've been to many locations over the years and, almost without exception, they've failed to impress. The sub...sandwiches -- no matter what you put on them -- always seemed to be bland and wanting in the flavour department. Because of that, I've often wondered how and why Subway has managed to trump what, in my view, is a far superior chain: Mr. Sub. It probably has much to do with the marketing machine of large MNCs over relatively small (Canadian) companies. We get conditioned to think of mediocrity as "great." Hence the massive prevalence of Subway in this country. . . All of that said, I visited the sole Kitimat location to see if maybe -- JUST MAYBE -- they'd be one of those rare Subway units where I'm left saying "yes, that was a good sub." I ordered the Roasted Turkey sub and added a bit of sriracha-inspired sauce to it. While the sub looked decent enough it, unsurprisingly, fell flat flavour-wise despite the addition of a supposedly spicy sauce. Well, at least they tried. FOOD: 2.5/5 SERVICE: 3/5 VALUE: 4/5 RECOMMENDATION: Again, I'm left wondering how this chain remains so popular. They’re everywhere from large metropolis (Toronto) to tiny hinterland (Kitimat), and they’re usually very busy. I get that they’re cheap and fast, but those two factors in and of themselves do not equate to a quality product. Surely we can demand better. Maybe someone in this town can franchise a Mr. Sub? The menu was the same as all other Subways in Canada. The ingredients were all fresh. The staff were friendly and got Our order ms ready quickly.
Can't go wrong at Kitimat Subway...well unless you're the customer. I tried the butter chicken sub, and made the mistake of forgetting that sometimes less is more. Went a little crazy with the fixings, which buried the taste of the butter chicken, which the little...I got was flavorful. So hopefully I will get a chance to try it again without so many extras I mistakely added. The soup was pretty good too.More
I oredered a 6 inch sub for lunch and the meat was so thin and absent that it seemed like I was eating mainly bread. Raise your prices if you have to but don't cheap out. Honestly, nobody wants a wish sandwhich.
I try and shake up the mix for the Night Shift Safety meetings I host every week. As a treat, I have ordered in pizza, coffee, donuts, and this last time, monster sandwiches from Subway in Kitimat. They took the order over the phone, along...with my credit card, they had the food ready when I got there, and when the ravening horde of Night Shift guys were done, all that was left was the mess of wrappers and napkins, so I'd say it was a huge success for an economical price!More
Just what you would expect from a sub place. The subs are good and the service is good. No complaints. If you want a extra amount of something on you sub. Ask they will add it.
Very good subway, never had any problems except maybe not enough people working during the lunch rush so there were long slow lines.
This subway is among the better Subways I have eaten at in BC. Friendly and efficient staff serve up a tasty lunch any day.
