We walked down the beach on a very hot afternoon in pursuit of lunch at Jacalas. We were very hot and sandy upon our arrival, and the staff was wonderful. They immediately came over and seated us at a shady table on the veranda with a beautiful ocean view. They came with cold bottles of water and menus and asked... More

It was a Sunny Afternoon on Meads 12:30 reservations. Arrived 10 mins. early.... Some debate on what to do with "walk ins" with the staff. Always luv a little bit of Dining Intrigue. We got our corner table. 8 bottles of Rose and 4 bottles of Mersault in the first 40 minutes. (Not us, but the whole floor). Helps pay... More

One of the best tuna nicoise I've had. Delicious crisp fresh vegetables, watermelon and goat cheese salad achieved fresh and delicate flavors, and breads on table hot and savory.

My sister's and I arrived a little early for our reservation. We were seated and ordered a bottle of Rose. After placing our order we were brought an amazing amuse bouche of cold asparagus soup. I hope I can recreate that at home!! We then shared a conch ceviche that was perfectly seasoned. Our dinners were chicken breast stuffed with... More

Dinner was so good, we returned the next day for lunch Service was great! Jacques, the quirky owner was charming and had his eyes and ears on every table Everything was great. The whole snapper, cucumber soup, lobster soup, snapper ceviche, and lobster. Fairly priced wine list. The same bottles were less than at molliouhana or straw hat down the... More

Super delicious dinner in an absolutely lovely setting. Every course bathed in classic and talented sauces, and the service was really top notch - a very well-run operation. Plus they prepare the steak tartare old-school style, which no one does anymore.

We were told this was the best restaurant on the island so we were anxious to go there. They were nine of us. At one end of the table 2 of us had fish and two of us had pork medallions. The pork medallions arrived cold. One Fish dish was lukewarm and overcooked and the other was not hot either.... More

My family dined at Jacala during a recent trip to Anguilla. Despite rave reviews prior to our arrival, we did not feel it was a good experience at all. The food was definitely not great, and the owner's behavior was insulting and annoying. He gave total preference to French speaking guests, and made us wait and wait and wait for... More

We're fussy foodies. We were so enamored with Jacala that we offered to wash dishes to score a table for Thursday or Friday night. The owner assured us that "lunch was better than dinner" - but that did not satisfy our palate for a return visit. Sigh. Dreams of the cucumber soup, grilled watermelon and goat cheese salad, lobster risotto... More
