We came here specifically to visit this cafe. It said online that the cafe opened at 11 am. When we arrived at 11 there was a hand written note in the window saying they would open at 12 pm. We waited in the cold for...one hour, and at 12 a woman came out and said it would be at least another hour until they opened. We left, very disappointed and very hungry.More

Friendly staff, beautiful view and cozy atmosphere. The only negative point was that several dishes were no longer available.

Magical location. Limited menu of simple but well-prepared food, perfect after hiking. The fish soup is best known, with homemade bread. Warm proprietor.

The person at the Snaefellsjokull National Park not only recommended the Arnarstapi to Hellnar hike but also this restaurant for its fish stew. The view from the patio was wonderful. We need to go into the building to order. However, their staff brought the food...to the table. Their service was good. The food was served on real bowls and plates. The fish stew was full of fish and delicious. Fresh bread accompanied the stew. We enjoyed the lunch before hiking back to Arnarstapi. The lunch was pricey but a real treat for us. They also stopped a person from smoking at a table on the patio. Since I am real sensitive to any type of smoke, I appreciated the no smoking policy.More

Everyone says go to this little shack down the hill, so we did. The seating area is tiny - which is fine, actually kind of nice. We ordered the "famous fish soup" - disappointment does not explain the watery, not much fish, soup. And then...the bill for two not full bowls and two drinks was $40 USD. Lots of wonderful places to eat in Iceland, some large, many small, some like this, tiny. This is not one we recommend.More

Surprisingly excellent! We had the fish stew, with subtle taste of curry, which was exactly what we needed after a cold and wet walk.

Under pouring rain we walked down the coastal trail from Arnarstapi that brought us to this cute cafe where we were treated delicious quiche and great coffee with heartfelt hospitality. Despite nonstop rain the ocean water was still blue and the view still gorgeous.

Even the fish soup was nothing special and expensive the bread was good, the coffee was good and the waffle was also good and the service was good even though it was very crowded. But the best part is the amazing location close to the beach,...the sound of the sea and all the birds around. It is worth visiting but try to avoid rush hour to enjoy the wild atmosphere.More

Since September isn't high season I'm not sure but I would think so. We did run into a problem on Saturday n Sunday trying to find a place to get something to eat. Many places didn't open up until 11 am
