Lovely lunch sat outside in the sun. Staff were excellent and attentive and wore masks. Pub grub lunch menu. We had the Steak pie and Lasagne which were piping hot and very tasty. Enjoyable couple of hours in the old part of Llantwit Major.

So, I, the Evil One, BiL, my niece, and the Scottish arrive. We all wearing masks and are given the choice to eat in or out. We eat in. There was a good choice of Sunday beef, lamb, pork, half chicken or turkey written on...a black board for offer. All for £10.50. My mouth watered for the chicken but was told they are not doing chicken. Oh no! I ordered the beef instead. We all placed our orders and waited. The food we had was delivered less that 20m later and was burn your mouth hot if you are not careful. The side vegetables was a mixed bowl of carrot, broccoli, peas and a few others I forget. A lot of thought went into what I had but not a lot to what I hoped for. There was only two roast potatoes on my plate that were not crispy. I did not have my chicken and even the beef was not that good. The pork did not come with crackling. The vegetarian option while tasty was not clear for what one would get on the menu. As a group we asked a lot of simple questions about the food that the servers had to go back and ask for the answers. At the least it was ok but I'd not pay the £10.50 nor recommend to anyone. I think £5 would be a good price for what I had today. I'd still come here for the week day food. PS: This place does accept Scottish money :) The group left a £5 tip.More
Good choice of simple foods including my favourite - lasagne. Whole family enjoyed our meals. Definitely worth the wait after missing out the night before when the restaurant was full. Liked the modern feel to the bar.
Called in for lunch and staff were very helpful in finding us a table. The ordering system is well thought out with online and table service. Food was tasty and there was a nice atmosphere. Weather was changeable - staff worked well to accommodate everyone.
Great food, 50% off in August Mon-Wed as well. We had Sunday lunch and was spot on!! Nice pint of Birra Morretti 🍺🍺
A sad contrast, first visit post lockdown was excellent and the food first class The second visit was a shocker, 25minutes from arriving till first drinks, staff innatentive to customer need; abrupt staff when asking if we could make another order a very unpleasant atmosphere...and then I had to tell them what I had ordered to settle the bill as all records had been lostMore
Three empty tables outside - but could not use them due to the landlady and landlord reserving them “in case regulars turn up”. Walked over the road to the Old Swan Inn to a wonderful warm and hospitable welcome by a charming Irish Man. Would...never return out of principle.More
Dear mr Davies, We do believe this is an unfair score and to be honest a case of ‘sour grapes’ First of all, the front tables are not two meters apart so therefore only two can be used, and one was already occupied. Your complaint...More
Lovely ! Sat in beer garden , which was pleasant despite the rain ! Good menu , lovely food . Heaters would be nice , but will be back !
Absolutely lovely pub, beer garden a delight, everything was 100% to deal with precautions with covid, all tables and chairs sanitise as soon as people left, the staff exceptional in going above and beyond in these trying times Looking forward to eating here next weekend.... Haven't eaten here yet that is why l given 4 stars. WELL DONEMore
Visited from Scotland to meet up with a group of friends, I wanted to put money behind the bar for the group but this place does not accept Scottish cash!!
I’m so very sorry, I’m afraid we have had to put this into place after being victim to a number of fraudulent notes from Scotland. If the staff had called me, we could have sorted this. Again I can only apologise.
