No vegetarian lasagne :( Do people not understand VL will cure world hunger if everyone could eat it all the time!? The restaurant only opened for the 13 of us to celebrate a 50th birthday. We all placed our orders in advance and we were...eating starters and mains within 45m of being seated. The Devil Child had olives for a starter and I had the Vesuvio pizza for my main. See pictures. My pizza cost £12.50. I thought it was only worth half that price.More

Been here a few times.

Been here a few times as we’re local and they never fail to live up to the high standards set on our first visit. Last night the food was top notch again. Real home cooked Italian food. Loved my pizza and was just the right...side of spicy. My wife loved her Carbonara ( despite not being able to finish it.) Might be our last time for a while but will be getting takeaways I think. Service was top drawer as well and felt very safe with all the measures put in place for Covid compliance. Thank you again!More

Made my daughter's night

Went for a family evening and the food and wine were both outstanding. The staff made my 3 year old daughter's night with her 'special' ice cream. Will be making regular visits and cant recommend highly enough!

Lovely meal.

Lovely meal. My sea bream was absolutely delicious and my husband’s squid was good. His tiramisu was to die for. It would’ve been 5 stars, except for my lemon cheesecake which was very disappointing indeed and the service of our mains within 5 mins of...getting our aperitifs. But definitely will go again.More

Lunch with old friends

Lovely atmosphere, wonderfully tasty, authentic Italian food at very reasonable prices. Very attentive and friendly staff. Would highly recommend and will definitely return on my next visit to llantwit.

Yet another fantastic meal

I've been eating at Il vesuvio for over 10 years and every time it just seems to get better and better. The food, wine, atmosphere and staff are all absolutely fantastic. Beautiful Italian food served by beautiful Italian people

We celebrated a 30th birthday yesterday, only 4 of us and it was faultless, from the anti pasti to the highly recommended linguine Pescatore, all cooked freshly which you can taste. great job guys keep up the good work. grazie per una bella serata :)
